They've been doubting her since her freshman year in high school when she was very thin and very undeveloped. But not only has Ostrander defied those doubts she's far exceeded anyone's expectations. This may be her peak year, but maybe not.
Venture to guess 15:07, 31:55 this year but would not be surprised to see under that if she stays healthy.

don't bring up weight. check out the kenyans destroying the ethiopian women at the 2011 world's. what might change, however, is the body shape, already delayed no doubt by the training.
Another example of her character...she didnt even find it necessary to correct the interviewer, though you could see in her reaction, that she caught the mis-statement... This girl is a class act.
Allie can flat out run, and looks really efficient doing so. Plus, Ihmels is doing something right - training Brenna Peloquin from 50th at 2014 NXN to 9th at 2015 NCAAs. What a leap! Ihmels is either doing something really good, or maybe got lucky in that Brenna was simply way under-trained in high school and not running close to her potential. Hope they continue to do well - along with that other BSU sophomore who almost broke 16:00. BSU ladies distance looks pretty solid for the next few years.
Ihmels got lucky to recruit Brenna. A runner doesn't make that kind of progress in 3-4 months with a coach unless they were way under-trained in high school. We probably need to judge Ihmels based on how much they progress from this point forward.
I wonder if having Allie and Brenna in top 10 at NCAAs is helping BSU recruit?

Grace paced through 3000 I believe. It was hard to tell though on that bizarre track.
So...do we know whether she is on thyroid meds yet like many of Coach Ihmel's other athletes at Boise?

I don't think she's eligible for US junior records. She missed the cut-off by 8 days as her DOB is listed as 24.12.1996.

Any news of BSU recruiting out there? BSU ladies look like serious contenders next year at NCAA XC. From UW Invite, they obviously already have 3 solid 5K runners Allie, Brenna (both frosh) and Minttu (soph). I think they already have some other solid runners, but if they could get 1-2 more top 20 FL or NXN runners, they would really be a force next year.
Did the girl who runs barefoot run at UW? Did she run at NCAA cross?

Those junior record cutoffs make little sense. The same issue happened with Ritz, who ran 13:27 at 19, but was two days two old (dob 12/30, I believe) for it to count. That would have been ten seconds better than Rupp's record, which was subsequently lowered to maybe 13:31 by Derrick (13:29?) and then 13:25 by German. They should just be under-20 records.
