I can't speak for Jamaica or Ethiopia, but in Kenya football (soccer) is, by a long way, the most popular sport.

True.
Tue world cup is like a religion (or more). The entire country stops and some people even desert work to watch the beauiful game.
The Olympics comes a distant second.
