ewwwww.... men shouldn't be shaving their legs. they are denying their masculinity by doing such a thing! It's something that women do to impress men. We don't want women expecting men to do that?!!!! WHAT WOULD THE WORLD COME TO!!!!

I shave everything, including my head. Hair is gross, it holds sweat, and yes you look more defined without hair.
I've been doing it maybe 7-8 years. The only downside is the time commitment to do it. I don't care what anyone thinks since I'm married with kids. it looks cleaner to me. Deal with it homophobes.

Even your eyebrows?
You must be FAST!
UCLA mid and distance runners did it at '77 NCAA's.
Distance runners started shaving their legs on Oct 31st 1983, when they realized their legs looked better shaved in sheer pantyhose when they put on their sexy cat-suit Halloween costume.
I trim because looking like this:

is not a very comfortable existence when either I'm running or working out.

What specific reason do cyclists shave their legs for? Does leg hair get stuck in their spokes?
Cyclist's shave for two reasons:
-road rash clean up, when they fall its easier to clean the wounds and tape/bandage
-massage, far easier for the therapist to work with a shaved leg
Swimmers : Less water drag in the pool
Runners: massage could be the only technical excuse, vanity explains the rest

Pure BS.
Shaved legs are faster on the bike. More aerodynamic.
Shaved my legs once in college because my teammates were doing it. Never did it again, because it was pointless. In response to A Helpful Guy:

Seriously. If you are shaving your legs, go into the bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror. Be honest with yourself and ask a few basic questions:
-Would your dad approve of this?
My dad didn't care at all.
-Would your mother approve of this?
My mother didn't care at all.
-Would your grandfather approve of this?
Grandpa would have thought it was a little strange, but he also thinks modern music and computers are strange, so I don't worry about that too much.
-Do you think your girlfriend/wife likes to tell people that you shave your legs? What reason does she give them?
She would have no reason to talk about it unless other people asked.
-What benefit does it offer?
Made me feel cool. It was a fashion statement.
-Do you think the benefits outweigh the negatives?
Biggest negative was that it was a pain in the ass. No real benefits other than the identity that it builds (which can also be a mild negative). I decided that the answer to this question is no.
If you can actually answer those questions and come away thinking it is still a good idea, by all means keep shaving.
