I agree that Mo would be an anomaly unless he ran some near WR times for 5 and 10k. If he does run sub 59 for the half the odds are Farah will set exceptional 5 and 10k PRs this year--as long as he avoids injury, and he gets in well rabbited races (on the track).

Mo will end up as top 10 performers of all time from 1500m to the half. He will add either the marathon or 800m to his list of top 10s. he just needs to run low 1:42 for the 800m; and low 2:04 for the marathon. The marathon is more difficult, but as Mo get older he has more opportunities to run the distance than the 800m.

All of that supports our point, not yours. He has not done anything to indicate 26:23 fitness. At best, it's inconclusive. At worst, he is nowhere near 26:23. But there is certainly nothing to suggest record ability in 10k/13.1k.
Your question was "what suggest to you than Mo Farah isn't in 26:23 shape?". Everything he's done indicates he is better at shorter distances.

I thought it was very obvious that his listed PR's are very situational, and even I pointed out the situation, everything he's done if you ignore situational references would lead you to think he's better at shorter distances, but why would you ignore variables such as the ones I described in my previous post?

Because his performances so far have put a limit on how fast he could possibly be at 10k. That limit is not 26:23. Sure, he is definitely faster than his PRs but not by much.

According to the British Press (regular news), Mo's goal is the run sub-60 and set a PR, only T&F publications are talking about a WR. However, I agree he should be going after the WR because there are over a dozen athletes capable of running a sub-60 half and why would the Olympic and WC champ not want to separate himself from the crowd. If Mo does go after the record, it want be easy, Tadese track 10K PR is 10 seconds faster than Mo and when Tadese set the half record, he ran aggressive from the start, which is something I have not seen Mo do.

They change the starting point slightly for invited (elite) runners to make it count for record purposes. The rest of the field must always mention the asterisk next to their time if they tell someone about their Lisbon hm pr

????? I don't hate Mo. I think first that he needs the superfast times for his legacy, including major world records, if he wants to be considered among the greatest ever, and second that history will judge what led to such unprecedented late career improvement and dominance.
The reason his 1500m time is his best is that that was the only very fast race he has been in since his transformation to dominance. He hasn't been in a single 3000m in the 7:20s, 5000m run in the 12:40s, 10000m run in the 26:20s, or even half marathon in the 58s since he started winning everything. That 8:03 was certainly a harbinger of things to come this year on the track.
