I'd say the Bahrain athlete is likely ramzi. I've always cheered for the Dominican 400m guy. unfortunately for him, I don't know of any other DR runners at 400m and up...and there is a positive identified from that country as a medalist...hoping I'm wrong.

Given that the dates go back as early as 2001, names that are at least technically possible:

Kelly Holmes

Christine Ohuruogu

Paula Radcliffe

Mo Farah

Jo Pavey (borderline if she's a big "star", but she has become something of a sensation of late)

Weren't they described as "400 metres and on"? That would negate Holmes and ohuruogu. Without disrespecting Pavey, I don't think she would be considered one of Britain's most well known athletics candidates.

Don't ya just luv it when someone comes on to the LR forum full of themselves and going on about their anonymous sources and athletes they know of blah, blah, blah and things they know that no else here does. Means nothing, just tell us who the two are if you know them and the others or post some links.

Nothing mysterious about anonymous sources, if you attend enough clinics, conferences, and mingle at track meets...people talk. In terms of the athletes who were asked to either stop doping and/or quietly walk away; I am only about 90% certain who they are because I wasn't given names. What I was given was information that allowed for a very educated guess. It would not be fair to name an athlete for the same reason IAAF is not naming them and I probably wouldn't give names even if I was absolutely certain.

Speculation on cycling news.com seemed to be favoring Jessica Ennis. I had thought of her myself, but if the group truly is "400 meters and on", I wouldn't have thought that described her very well (true, she runs the 800 as part of her main event, but still...)

A couple of people on the forum got a little giddy over the thought of it being Ennis, but I'm not sure the general consensus was that it was her.

I got the impression most were convinced it was the obvious but hoped it was someone a bit more 'exciting'.
