Ironically enough, most of the imagery used in that trailer was authentic and based off some real model. Yes, there are obvious effects created in post-production like the mist, contrails and such, but most of the footage is bona fide real material.
So, as usual, Letsrun is just full of quick-to-judge idiots who hate something just because it's cool and different to hate it. Bunch of tryhard pseudo-intellectuals if you ask me.

I thought it looked good until that last stupid image of the ship doing a flip in the air and the camera going all 360 or whatever it did. Just cartoonish looking CGI crap.

Like I said, that's not cgi. It's a real model with after effects added in. (Contrails, filtering.) most letsrunners don't know what their talking about.

It has more to do with the fact that anything that is outside the realm of possibility (what, you mean to tell me that the Millennium Falcon isn't REAL???) makes people assume that CGI is used, and then proceed to dislike it, which isn't the case.
