Obviously, this wasn't a race but a training exercise. Good for the other runners I guess, bad for spectators.
Unlike Rupp's race, they obviously knew in the back of their mind that they'd be working out afterwards. So they seemed to have not raced 100%. That's my explanation for the slow speeds.
So much talk about JH. But what is the plan for ShaRo? She is almost 30.
Don't most runners wait too long to tackle the marathon? Wouldn't she rather win at the marathon than be a workhorse/pacer for Hasay at the shorter distances? Huddle is now beating ShaRo at her mile distance too.
The money and sponsorship for marathons is lucrative and currently the top North American competition is rather soft. ShaRo should move up to 26.2. That's my thought for the day.

But the 800 wasn't a "well-off-PR-effort." It was her indoor PR. She ran faster in a time trial, so the race clearly wasn't perfect, but I don't think it had anything to do with fitness. Sometimes you take it out too hard. I expect good things from her this season, she looks great.

Rojo, I am not joking, I use that same results website and know there are a few. Jordan supposedly ran a 2:07 time trial so she's one of those few. The real gap between Jordan and the top 10K runners is her actual 10K time, she has pretty much closed the gap in terms of speed. Yet people are acting like she needs to get down to 2:04?

Yeah good point. Her 5k/10k prs are 1537/3146. Like she said in her flotrack interview, she has a lot of things to work on, which means there's a lot of potential for improvement. She said in college she always ran about 60 miles a week, and only upped it to 80 her senior track season to prepare for the 10k, and now she's doing 110 mpw.
I've always read that it takes 6 months to realize the full benefits of a jump in mileage. So by outdoor Hasay should see a big improvement from the increased mileage. Now with the sprint and weight room work, I think she could improve drastically considering her limited speed.

Not sure if Rowbury is ready for a marathon although she mentioned in her interview that she is training to likely move up to 5k for the Rio cycle.
She also mentioned how much different the current training is as compared to her work with Cook.
These two things combined may explain her slow start at her first race effort with the NOP.
People often doubt her early in the season BUT she makes every world team she tries out for.
BTW-Since when has Huddle beat Rowbury in the 1500 / mile?

Already mentioned that I thought that was not a good idea
If it was a training session they should have done it in private. I think she just lacks speed. She is lucky to be American if she was a Kenyan she would be milking the cows
Even when she was doing 1500's a couple of yrs ago she seemed to avoid 800's

Ok, how about this; "I thought we all wanted to see our T&F athletes train through a race/race more."
What was telling was their interviews on Flotrack. They were relaexed and not at all troubled about their times. The saw their performance a good start for the indoor season, where they will aim for the National Championships to qualify for World Indoor Championships.
I agree with them.

Jordan Hasay is from Arroyo Grande.
LA/SF are part of the USA so why should it matter if Hassay/Rowbury are from those places?
