Buckman was lucky to get by Dibaba. She passed on the inside of lane one on the final stretch. Had the inside not opened up, she might not have made the final.

first of all, that's an 800

second of all, I'm not an absolutist - races are won from all over the track.

I do think that in a 1500 your odds improve if you are on the rail in the lead or just behind the leader with 400 to go.

You don't see Bernard lagat hanging out in lane 2 much, do you?
