Yes thats whats happening to me right now and it definitely sucks.

Probably depends on how much you like running. For some people like myself I just flat out enjoy it.

As far as social life, I don't think running 40 or 80 mpw makes that much difference. That's like 40-50 minutes a day of extra running, which while significant in terms of training stimulus is pretty insignificant in terms of available time in the day.

Would you rather run 30-45 mpw and then come in 60th in the JV race?

Also, it has no effect on social life.

Yeah I dont hit anywhere near that kind of mileage but it would have no effect on my social life. On the days I have doubled I went to morning prac and then ran before going to a friends house or football game.
