ventolin, it is a pretty well observed phenomenon that solo time trials are slower than races. an implication of this is that an athlete may only be able to go to 2/3 race distance at race pace in solo practice time trial conditions.
OP, get us back on track, man!
idiot
that is drivel
what does that make paula's 4'01tt from her book ???
offer me a number for her in well-paced 1500...

once again ventolin.................
a well observed phenomenon is not superceded by one little data point.
hahaha, omg, you are stupid!

-I never said 2:31 was my PB or even the best I was capable of at the time I ran it. I said it was what I ran in practice 15 days before a 3:44.3 race.
-My 'method' is that I think I (or any number of other competitive mid-d or distance athletes) can race a distance 1.5x greater than I would be capable of time trialing by myself at the same (or close to) pace.
-I'm driveling that a known competitor (Centro) would not be capable of a fast solo time trial because his greatest asset is his ability compete well.
-Paula was: never in the right 1500 race at the right time and/or an exceptional solo runner. A sample size of one isn't statistically convincing.
-You are supposed to metronome a TT. That doesn't mean you'll automatically be capable of it just because you stepped on the track with 'Time Trial' in mind. Pacing correctly is hard (look how poorly many rabbits do - and they're paid to do it).
-I compared my 3k ability to Masterkova's 3k ability. Not an unrelated party's 3k ability. No, I haven't run 7:51.
-I've run under 8:03 more than once. And I appreciate your generosity.
-Maybe I'm a slight outlier, maybe not. I can't say how well others compete. Obviously there's at least one person on the planet who can only muster a 2:31 in practice, yet run a faster pace for 1500 in a race. Pretty sure I'm not the only one.
-I have posted fact (and conjecture based on my personal experience with said fact). Is it your conclusion that I'm lying? Or would you perhaps conclude that I would be capable of a faster 1km time with competition?
You kept calling me names after I asked you not to. Now I'm sad 'n stuff.

imbecile
she has official 4'05pb
she has claimed a 4'01tt
moron
get it into your numbskull - elites don't race tt's for fun or 1/2-heartedly

i'm talking about her 14'31 in '02 which by far was the best 5k of her career

then you are wasting my time
i'm interested in best possible tt - not some 1/2 hearted rubbish
-My 'method' is that I think I (or any number of other competitive mid-d or distance athletes) can race a distance 1.5x greater than I would be capable of time trialing by myself at the same (or close to) pace
that is nonsense

drivel
you have no idea what centro woud run a tt like
as an elite, i assume it woud be to his limit
-Paula was: never in the right 1500 race at the right time and/or an exceptional solo runner. A sample size of one isn't statistically convincing
idiot
4'05pb v 4'01tt
or there is the legendary 1'42.7tt of hicham in '02 - just what was expected at his limit
this shows elites try & run their best possible time in a tt
-You are supposed to metronome a TT. That doesn't mean you'll automatically be capable of it just because you stepped on the track with 'Time Trial' in mind. Pacing correctly is hard (look how poorly many rabbits do - and they're paid to do it).
no
you have a clear track & you have done enough racing to know what tempo you need to go from gun-to-tape
anyone who can't tt properly isn't going anywhere in this sport
-I compared my 3k ability to Masterkova's 3k ability. Not an unrelated party's 3k ability. No, I haven't run 7:51
she never ran a 3k in her life on the circuit, so we go for next best - the chinese
your 2'31tt is hopeless in comparison to their ratios
-Maybe I'm a slight outlier, maybe not
no
no outlier, just a nonsense 1k tt
I can't say how well others compete. Obviously there's at least one person on the planet who can only muster a 2:31 in practice, yet run a faster pace for 1500 in a race. Pretty sure I'm not the only one
no
100% of 3'44 guys on this planet can run 2'31tt
-I have posted fact (and conjecture based on my personal experience with said fact). Is it your conclusion that I'm lying? Or would you perhaps conclude that I would be capable of a faster 1km time with competition?
i've said your 2'31 is nonsense
conclude from that

dafuq?
ok, using 14:31, I predict 3:56.2 for Paula Radcliffe.
Well since you put it that way, I guess I see your point.
Hey, you're not mad are you?
Results? C'mon, man. Don't leave us hanging.
