Ritz has just dropped out!
Gebremariam leading with 6 laps to go
Haile middle of lead pack of 10-11 runners
They took about a 10-12 minute break in coverage for news and lots of commercials

Nothing actually, except a confidence boost that he's getting closer to a training partner who's run 26:48 and likely will be in 26:30ish shape this year.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
You are deluded.
You heard it here first.
Rupp 26:30 ... that's a good one. Thanks for the laughs.
Please please keep updates coming!

I would be on this before I'd bet on a PR, that's for damn sure.
Tariku Bekele wins

Haile got roasted on the last lap
"I tell you, I would have done well in that race if I had had to crawl across the finish line on my hands and knees."
tariku bekele 27.11
2 lelisa desisa
3 sihine sileshi
4geb geb
5medihne eri
Many dropped out as it was almost 30° C, imagine how hot the track was....
Ritz - 27:50.
Maybe running 27:45 pace by himself wasn't such a great idea after all.
27:50 for Ritz.
loser
Wow. I'm a Ritz fan but damn does he know how to let you down. I think Derrick is looking better and better for a team spot.
27:50's not bad in those conditions. 86 degrees in the shade. very surprising to me that they hold this one during the day. now getting the A qualifier becomes a pain. how long after trials can he chase it? maybe he can get it in the trials, but leading to quicken the pace is not conducive to qualifying.
And there certainly wasn't any shade on the track. It looked hot as hell down there.
BAIRU, Simon CAN 28:46.82
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
good job Jerry ;D
How to fck up the athlete 101....increase millage, if something starts to hurt= keep pushing aaaaaand get injured or burn out......
I know it was hot and all but I wonder if Ritz was just too focused on just making the A standard. It makes me wonder what his time would have been if he had just gone out there and raced like he wanted. Perhaps Alberto held him back a little too much this time.

Can't chase the standard after the trials.
These guys have to toughen up. It could easily be like this in London. You will not significantly dehydrate in a 10,000 like in the marathon. These guys just slow down because of discomfort.
