Webb is an under-hero, under-dog. He was top top and top hero just a few years ago. Some people want him to continue, and never stop, cranking out uber-performances. Webb just wants to run and partly be top-dog again but is willing to just run and enjoy. His fans put too much pressure in him to drop uber-times every race.

Webb is, in my opinion, the top non-competitive runner out there. He is capable of very fast times. You never know. His fans should just let him be. Let him run. Cheer him on. Stop worrying about his times. Lower the pressure.

Storming off the track at a meet last indoor season and saying "why did I even bother coming here", does not sound like somebody who is enjoying running.

However, Webb is utterly unpredible.

Webb's been having a really bad last couple years...I really hope he doesn't retire. Everyone made fun of Geb and said he was done after DNFing all those races or running mediocre times and then he did retire and everyone had to beg him back.

Webb bis probably pissed off enough that he thinks about retirement a lot but I really hope he doesn't.

If I remember rightly, Geb retired (briefly) in late 2010, the same year he won the Dubai Marathon for the third time in a row and less than two months after winning a top level international half marathon at the Great North Run, in a sub 1 hour time and just over two years after setting a marathon world record of 2:03:59 in Berlin.

But yeah, other than that they were a really bad last couple of years for Geb.
