Why do women need makeup? Are they not pretty without it? I am amazed all the makeup women put on their face.

Regarding items 4 and 5. in your list of advantages, if you are waking up next to your boyfriend (not your husband), then aren't you, too, a skank in the eyes of most women?

I'm not talking about women who wear too much makeup. But some makeup makes almost any girl prettier, and I like it when girls like to look pretty for a date etc. It shows me they care. They also look better in heels, boots, etc. You may look better than a skank, but I'm not talking about skanks.

I personally like women who are confortable in both wearing makeup and not wearing makeup.

My gf puts makeup on when she goest to work in order to look her best in a professional banking industry (and to cover up her freckles - she's half filipino and since so few of that race have freckles she constantly gets asked by customers if she has freckles which is a distraction too her), however she doesn't wear any on the weekends unless we go out on a date or something. If we are in a hurry she doesn't put any makeup on. She simply likes "looking a little nicer" sometimes and that's okay with me. She's beautiful to begin with, but with the little makeup she does put on she is even hotter!

You can give me red lipstick and high heels over sweats anyday!!!

When done right, I'd say make-up can add around 2pts on the rating scale. I don't think you'd find very many 9-10s without having some make-up on.

Beautiful women, especially beautiful teenagers, are rarely happy. You have to deal with a ton of crap and often unwanted attention from men when you're attractive. Even more hellish if you're beautiful and smart, as those d-baggish guys are even more irritating.

It takes a lot of experience and patience for a nice looking woman to figure out how to fend off all that attention without coming across as bitchy or a Lesbian.

Guys project so much onto attractive women...and when the women don't respond in accordance with the admirer's preconceived fantasy, the poor woman is the bitch, tease, skank, ___ fill in the blank...

It is tremendously difficult for beautiful teenage girls, who are often wrangling with attention not only from the population of guys their own age, but creepy old guys as well, to navigate the world of opposite sex relationships without some coaching.

I would take average looks, intelligence and a talent over drop dead gorgeous any day.

can't help but notice the 'no makeup' set seems to be young women only...wait until that youthful appearance starts to wither and you'll change your tune....

Me too and well said. And no, I don't think it makes you insecure. If anything, I think it makes you secure w/in yourself b/c you're willing to put it on or not depending on your mood versus being "forced" or feel the "need" to satisfy the stigma of society.

Who cares if one wants to put on make up or not. It's your decision.

For some reason, I think that a woman is prettier wearing makeup if all I am doing is admiring how she looks. If I'm actually talking to them, I tend to think they are prettier without makeup (even if it is the same person).

I actually like it when girls don't wear make up on dates, it shows me they're secure in their self-image, and that hopefully means they're happy. Whether or not they care about the date (or by extension me) isn't as important as whether or not they're happy. I'm not saying whether or not women SHOULD wear makeup, I'm saying I wish women didn't feel the need to. I wish women weren't insecure about the way they look.
