Hello-
I turn 40 pretty soon and I would like some info on races that I should be looking to do as a master. I ran a 2:21 at 39, nothing spectacular but not bad. Of course I would have liked to have run faster but don't we all...
If any of you can point me in the right direction as far as what I should thinking about as I turn 40 that would be great.
thanks.
If you post your e-mail, you will get more help.
Muddy, thanks for posting, we like your race reports be it first place or whatever. We all have those days. Some of us more then others.
Been there jjjj. I don't do the medicine as it makes me feel like a space cadet (like my stoner days). In my experience, running when I'm sick will usually extend the sickness for a few days more than if I just rest. But I feel like I come out stronger on the other end if I keep running. So a few more crappy days of sickness in order to maintain my fitness isn't much to ask. And there is nothing better than a good run and a hot shower to clear out a boat load of phlegm. My wife finds that disgusting but she's not a runner and only a runner can appreciate a good phlegm story.
Really fit 62 year old! I was looking at some of the WR's the other day and one that stood out to me and just has to be one of the greatest performances ever was a 53.88 second 400 by a 63 year old!

That is crazy fast, I mean if a 45 year old runs that it is pretty good, or if a 53 year old runs that fast it is top time, but age 63. Wonder what this guy was running when he was younger.
Thank you...
