1550
17:08 HS
15:21 Now
My freshman year HS PR of 23:32 just sneaks under my 3 part SAT score of 2350
Knew a couple of guys who did this, but not until college (or later).
1430 SAT, 14:13 5k.
If you believe everything on this thread, apparently 99% of LetsRun posters are in like the top 1% of the nation. Either there's some serious trolling/lying going on, or I'm confused about the scoring system...isn't the combined score of reading and math sections on the new (current) SAT equivalent to the old SAT total score? I know they're both out of 1600. If I've got that right, apparently almost everyone on this thread is in about the top 1% of the nation, and the lowest person I saw was around 200 points above the national average. Yeah...kinda doubt that. Seems like people lie more about this than about PR's!
But on the other hand I do agree that running and high scores would seem to possibly be positively correlated, what with the whole hard work/dedication/money and access to resources thing. I'm sure at least SOME of the people on here aren't lying! But come on, there are plenty of average-intelligence runners too. Something's not right here.
Any one who actually did achieve this, though, I'm truly impressed by. And on another note, being a girl, I wonder if any female has ever done it. That'd be incredible.
1430
5k: 1447
Close, but not quite. Those are some pretty sick stats though huh? Not lying at all btw...
Also, I'm six one and very handsome, and in medical school. Pretty crazy no?

Are you really trying to pick up girls on LetsRun?
I got a 1250 on my SATs!
Just kidding. 1450/14:26.

Non-response bias occurs in statistical surveys if the answers of respondents differs from the potential answers of those who did not answer.

It would really be awesome to have a higher score on the new SAT than your 8k time.
I think Derrick has it, but that might be it.
Not even close. Old school: SAT 1210. HS 5K: 15:54.
Apparently, I was / am dumb and slow by LRC standards.
Considering that the average score for the old school SAT is just over 1000, it seems that Letsrun posters are quite smart. In my experience as a high school and collegiate runner as well as a current high school coach, I must admit that distance runners tend to be a bit smarter than the average person. However, the results in this thread are just astounding. Congratulations to Letsrun on being so smart. I almost feel dumb with my mere 1460.
If you took the new SAT you have to use this formula:
(800 PR x 2) + (5000 PR + 400 PR) - Marion Jones Drug Aided 200 PR + penis length = Your Score
soooo....1280 (yeah, not the sharpest tool but not too shabby for never going to high school).....so i guess I just need to break 13 and viola??? haha, thanks to the OP for giving me another pipe dream!
cheers, dude-

Translation: it's mostly the people that either had faster 5ks than their old SATs, or were close, that have been answering this question. A lot of other people probably didn't even choose to view the thread, and a lot of those that are reading it haven't bothered replying.
By the way: 2400, 16:20. Anyone have a serious conversion proposal?
I didn't score over a 1000 on the SAT. Went to a junior college and still graduated from a four year school. I am currently employed in my career profession that I went to school for.
That's saying a lot more than people who had high SAT scores in high school. In fact, I doubt that I could still score over 1200 today (as a 25 year old).
modern score * 2/3
Granted, there are three sections now, but, why not normalize it. Or, list best 2 out of 3 and worst 2 out of 3.
1400... and 16:23. Not close.
If you take my GRE scores, which were higher, I still have no chance.
How about a mile time lower than your GPA? weighted hs gpas might make this realistic.
Unweighted GPAs, you\'d have to be pretty stellar.
