Our son(in his 20s) loved those movies and highly recommended them. The LW (Lovely Wife) and I watched them and couldn't wait for them to get over. Pure garbage. They were horrible.

I actually quite enjoyed those two movies, especially Rushmore. I'm also in my 20s, though. It's a generational thing. I doubt my parents would like them either. Wes Anderson's films aren't for everyone. But don't call it garbage just because you don't get it. How would you like it if you recommended a beloved movie to someone, they didn't like it, and told you it was "pure garbage"?

How can john connor send a man back in time who is his father? Why can they only send 1 terminator back per team? why not send a whole army?

"A Serious Man" is really not difficult to understand. You really don't have to think outside the box as you would think you would. The ending really just goes along with every other theme of the film.

I agree with the Obama movie. Didn't make sense, yet he won the election.....

"Rushmore" was wonderful and entertaining. The "Royal Tenenbaums" was not.

"Vanilla Sky" was so horrible I gave up even caring where it was headed.

"Synecdoche, New York" was on cable the other night and I gave up on it. It was not worth the effort. I'm not entirely stupid and I loved Charlie Kaufman's "Adaptation," but this one wasn't worth following.

Agreed. For me it was ok, until that rich guy the team where trying to "incept" went into the last level and saw what his dad was really saying at his death bed. The scene degrades into lala fantasy land. Wait a min isn't he dreaming. How does he see experience an real event that he was not privy to? Isn't this all about mental constructs? When did reality factor in? Loose thread to the whole story.

Stop Making Sense

What his dad said to him at the end isn't exactly what happened in real life. The goal of the team was to get the rich guy (Fischer jr.) to break up his dad's empire. To do this, they constructed a scenario where Fischer's dad tells Fischer jr. that he is disappointed that Fischer jr. tried to be like him, which would hopefully give Fischer jr. the idea to lead his own life (and divide/sell his dad's empire).

Not that hard to follow.

Memento. It's about a guy who can't form new memories. So people lie to him and he doesn't remember it and then they use him and lie some more. And on top of it all, I believe he psychologically made up a guy who was actually him, he was just in denial. So yeah, a scitzophrenic detective who can't form memories and is trying to solve a murder mystery... doesn't make sense. To me.

The Big Sleep. It is supposed to not make sense.
