Which American males have a shot at an Olympic medal (800m - Marathon) in 2012 and how many medals total will US get?

He is in the second tier of runners. He is looking at an almost 30s improvement to be a medal contender. Even if you say he is like a 8:25 guy (off his mile time) that is still a big jump. Guys have done it before but if you start adding in guys like him, you can pretty much list every 3:40 1500m guy.
