I haven't read the whole thread but I'm replying about the comment on page 1 - "if she had remained classy instead of flexing muscles, etc".

The thing is, it's obvious she wasn't pretending anything. If it was an obvious deception she would have acted all girly, make-up, etc. She was being herself. I know a few female basketballers who are a bit like her, and some footballers, they build muscle and like to show it.

Based on the experience of some of my close friends who have dealt with the South African athletics body its very hard to blame the athlete. She/he was most likely ushered along by handlers and officials with an agenda. For a short while she was a success story in a country that is basically in the toilet. I guess this PR stunt is more important than her public humiliation....sad.

When the whole story comes out, two things will be proven.

Caster and Caster's coaches etc., knew she was not 100% female. This had been called into question before in Caster's life.

Caster's handlers decided that since Caster did not have a phallus, that they could get away with stealing a medal in Berlin, and therefore gaining funds for their federation.

A lot of people want to pain Caster as an innocent little girl. This issue was not new in Caster's life before Berlin.

It is a tragedy for Caster, to be born this way, but that does not give Caster, her handlers, her federation, her country to try and foster this fraud on the world.

When all is said and done, this house of cards will fall, and many heads should roll in SA.

They, and Caster, yes, CASTER, owe the world and the women in the IAAF 800 final an apology.

Caster can then go and race with young men, and take "her" chances.

1) The testes produce testorone but NOT semen , which makes them latent.

4) Saying that her testosterone levels are 3x as high as a normal woman is misleading. Women have a whole spectrum of testosterone levels , Caster seems to be at the upper hand of the spectrum though.(It's important to know that the MALE spectrum starts way beyond even the HIGHEST female levels!!!).

1) Referring to Caster as a "he" is insulting.

2) There are NO "normal" female levels of testosterone there's a whole spectrum. Caster is probably at the upper levels but NOT close to the male spectrum of testosterone levels!

3) The testes NEVER descended and DO NOT produce semen which means that they're latent! They do ensure that Caster has a high testosterone level though.

4) You're right that she was "used" by her handlers who saw her potential. But you're wrong about her not being able to compete. There have been multiple cases of female athletes with AIS testing as males (because chromosonally they're XY) but eventually being cleared and allowed to compete.

5) There was no "deceit" in placing Caster in the female race because she's a female (albeit an abnormal one in the genetic sense) , the ASA was very irresponsible though.

6) The racism claim comes from the fact that this is the THIRD time that a "fast" FEMALE AFRICAN 800m RUNNER has been called a "man" (Maria Mutola , Pamela Jelimo last year and now Caster Semenya)!!! Usain Bolt and Kenenisa Bekele have nothing to do with this matter whatsoever.

1) Caster not only "lacks" a phallus , she also has a vagina or did you forget? (Caster had several doping tests done and had to have peed IN FRONT of the "agents" if they saw anything "visibly" abnormal they would most certainly report it!)

Much shooting in the dark, as far as I can see. As far as I can tell there has not been a release of what Caster's actually testosterone levels were. So to state that they were in the range of a woman's or 3x higher or much lower than a normal man's is all guesswork at this time. We do not know unless we knew what 1. reference values they were using (an average female/an average elite athlete?) 2. what her actual levels were. Also it may be that she has partial or complete AIS (appears unlikely it is complete but may be partial).

That is the stupidest thing written yet...I have testes, I think I'll run in the female division from now on....what so I have a penis? I naturally have it, so I guess the advantage my testes give me are fine since they are naturallyAlso : I don't know that I feel all that bad for Caster.
