why wouldn't fernandez training also be keyed for towards worlds? His coach obviously knew he could qualify in this race, and he just started doing some workouts it seems. I am sure he and his coach know they have bigger fish to fry (either worlds, or ncaa indoors or whatever) If they get in good shape around worlds that will be good timing for the first stanford meet.
He's already started at least two other threads about Fernandez. It's safe to say that he's been gagging himself on a brown dildo.

Anyway, he said in his interview after the 3:56 mile that he has been doing primarily base work with like a 10x400m workout before the mile. There is no conclusive evidence one way or another that any of them are in different parts of their training phases.
We'll see if he can do it when it really counts. As a collegian, he doesn't have a good record there.

Easy bud. Luke not racing until today is some evidence. Why would Luke not run a race by now if he wanted to qualify for NCAA's? And also to sharpen up for today? Unless he is not concerned with being fit yet. No "evidence" for Derrick.
One other thing to consider, how did Ok. State finish at NCAA's? Even if you spot Fernandez a top 5 finish that's pretty much where Luke and Derrick finished, yet their teams came through on the right day. Soooooo, just speculating, but Ok. St. has a little more to prove in terms of peaking correctly. His opening mile leads me to believe he's coming with a vengeance right now which is awesome, but certainly not conservative.
Sorry man, thems the facts. Like I said, German is good enough to peak early and still finish fantastic if injury free. Everyone knows he's great and his future is ahead of him.

DUH! But it is what it is, there's no denying that. My statement says that he's unproven in the biggest championship races at the collegiate level and beyond. Winning this qualifying round doesn't mean much at all in and of itself. Your statement amounts to, well, excuse-making.

You're drawing conclusions from one race, which involved an injury, not a choke, not a poor finish, not blowing up, an injury. I'm not making excuses for the kid. I'm pointing how ridiculous and baseless all of the speculating is, about all three runners. You must sit at your couch all day concocting wild schemes and theories, but i speculate....
German won today, very convincingly according to the times. What happens in the rest of the season remains to be seen, but to condemn his season already because he won today and of XC NCAAs is crazy talk.

Wrong. I stated his record in major championships since arriving at OSU. It is what it is. It doesn't mean he's a failure but it definitely doesn't mean he's a success in championship settings at the next level.
What he won today was a qualifying round. Nobody has condemned anything except you inside your pea brain.
