I can' imagine hating Slumdog.
TEP I didn't hate, but I didn't enjoy. I found it boring and superficial.

That's what my friends tell me, and I wish I had liked the movie, but it had a very strong and negative effect on me. I was profoundly turned off by the game show idea and the show host, and the central pursuit of money and wealth (even if it was, supposedly, for love). Also, I thought that the violence and terrible abuse endured by the kids were treated too "casually"--who was good, what was good? I found the whole story depressing and cynical, and even the beauty of the girl bothered me. Just like the men had to have enormous power and wealth, the heroine had to be super-model beautiful. That reminded me of Hollywood, but worse, with a marketing twist to appeal to the Asian market.

Favourite part was when the kid had to escape the outhouse to get the guy's autograph.
Really? I thought that part was complete crap.
