There is a shit ton of guys and gals that made it from Eugene. If the OTC is a no show it is because they knew they were going to get their asses handed to them by Mcmillan, Hansons and Zap. A no show is the same as a loss.

It has been snowing hard all day in the mountain passes and less hard in eastern Washington. There have been lots of cars sliding off the road. Portions of I-90 have been closed at times today because of all the accidents.
I was told 2 weeks ago that OTC would not be going to Spokane. Gags was worried about the fitness level of the guys. He wants to leave in January on a winning note. The Olympic Trials were his shining moment. Spokane would not have gone well. Travel had nothing to do with it.
As of 6:14 am there is no new snow in Spokane and it is 29 degrees and no wind, at least at my house on the lower s. hill.Of course all of this will probably change by the time I get to the course in an hour.

Yeah, it's snowing. It's damn windy at the course too... A 10ft. Wide path is being cleared on the course as we speak.
It should be an interesting day as those not bothered by the cold should be able to run fast. And those who don't like the cold... Well it's just gonna suck.
Yup, it's snowing pretty good now. They're expecting 15-30 mph winds later this morning with gusts to 40. It's around 27 now, looks like it'll gradually drop during the day.
It is awesome. It is snowing like hell right now. It is getting colder too. Wind that Dorothy hasn't seen. I can't wait till 1:30. The most fun will be watching what some of these weather wusses will be wearing. If you don't have bare legs you should be DQ'd. This is how every Cross-Country meet should be handled.
yep, keith would you call that 4-5 inches outside the hotel right now? and we're not very far from the start so i'd imagine its similar there. shame they're clearing the snow on the course, they shold just leave it be and let them run it.

No, I'd call that about 1 1/2, but since that all came down since about 6:30 this morning the forecast for 4-7 total isn't off-base. Doesn't make sense to me to try to clear the course through, that will likely make conditions more sloppy. The snow accumulate, then the community run will plow a path and the footing won't be half bad. What's going to get exciting is if the s&^t starts blowing. Those little gals in the open race are going to look like Mary Poppins.
