what happened to New Jersey HS distance runners??

I'd like to see some more evidence before you decide to hang this guy out to dry. All these quotes were taken from the Monmouth County prosecutor, Steven Kaye, probably trying to make his case look as good as possible. What's even more odd is that the fact that the only quotes that the Independent Newspaper ended up getting on the article were from again prosecutor, Steven Kaye. Let's give this guy the benefit of the doubt for now.

what about Nate Sisco from Wake? Didn't he run like 3:43 for 1500? one of the North Hunterdon guys?

So what's the lowdown on MoK? Never heard of him before this year. Is he a foreigner?

gilderboom -- I did not/do not coach in South Jersey but ran there, graduating in the same year as many of the runners I listed. I've chatted and/or run with a few of them like once or twice a year, but nothing major or of much importance I would say. ...Just a fan of the scene.

Josh Joseph runs for U.Penn... not sure abou hs track stats but he's just off of their varsity XC team, as far as I know. He's a good kid; quite bright, too. (Hence why he is at that school)

And, definitely do not confuse CBA and Cherokee. I recall the days when they were always at each other's throats; quality times. Anyone know where one of the instigators of this rivalry, Dave Sitzer, has wound up. Last I heard he was at some juco in NC or maybe TX? That kid could fly on the track.

how about maybe the best hs runner nj possible put out in the last 20 years- but flopped at wisconsin.

Hey, what about Jonathan Fasulo -- he's a Jersey guy, right? In cross, he won the 2003 Big East, finished 2nd at NCAA Mid-Atlantic regional last weekend, and was 2nd at Great American. Also a NCAA finalist at 5,000. Not too shabby.

Being that fellow NJ people may know, I must ask about some runners who have "vanished" ....

Nate Miller - I believe this foot locker finalist spent one year at Stanford before transferring to Villnova, where I would think he'd still have a year of eligibility left? Guess not.

Mike Myers - Eastern High's winner at the MOCs went to Providence and ran on their sub-varsity squad. I think someone said he got injured and maybe even transferred?

Joe Halin - I know he rejoined the team at Appalachian State this year, but I did not see his name in their regional results. Anyone know if he did run XC this season or just trained with the ZAP Fitness people?

NJ kids are doing much better than the grads in my day (the mid-90's) During that time- only Ryan Grote, Keino, Debenedictus, Slattery, and the Wayton twins did anything in college. Now the kids are doing much better- almost everyone - including Heff, dissapointed in college.
