Hey guys I wouldn't too excited about CU not having a 4and 5. Word is that both Jared Scott and Casey Burchill have minor injuries. Jared ellected to not run and Burchill, Iknow he is a freshman with absolutely no credentials, but believe me this kid will be tough to beat I think, ran but was told to take it easy to test how much he could do on the minor injury. I think both are running at pre nats, we will see what happens.

I wonder who write the review. It one thing to use creative reporting/scoring to save face, that can be overlooked, even if they create new rules for race they not host. However the blatant lie of "10 of their runners ahead of the Buffaloes 5th runner" either incredibly stupid or incredibly low-class. Only need two hands and two feet to keep track. Maybe they report like T&FN and just copy what they read in Letsrun forum. Maybe "basic counting" elective at Wasted State.

Western State has a very, very good XC team but this homer website is slanting things in their favor, sort of like a political spin doctor. They'd finish 5th through 8th at NCAAs Division I on a great day and that rocks for a NCAA Division II team, independent of where the guys are from or what age/academic standards they adhere to. Sounds like they trained pretty hard through this race too. But they've had a friggin' woody to beat CU for the past decade. CU puts its eggs in a different basket--CU's emphasis is dialed in on peaking for Div. I NCAAs far more than their rust-buster, early October Shootout. Western gets as big a charge at threatening CU at the Shootout as it does at D-II nationals, and they'll tend to lay it all on the line in October in Boulder. If you compare early-season efforts to NCAAs, CU doesn't. Different priorities. It may cost Colorado the title next year though. They lose a lot more talent up front than Western State. WSC may just be flat-out better than CU in 2003.

I don't know if you want to look at full results because it looks pretty bad for Cu when Western has 9 runners infront of CU's 5th man, but i guess that if you really don't want to look at that and say that CU won than you must have your head as far up your ass as the man scored the meet.

Then why in Conference can your 8 and 9 runners who don't run regionals or nationals be all conference, because last year i am pretty sure that Wetsern had 8 all conference runners but who cares about that right.

Excuse meintheknow but who cares about minor injuries runner have then all the time and you reply sounds like an excuse. And Like I was told growing up Excuses are like buttholes everyone has them and they all stink!!!!!!

Cu beat western. Western had nine n front of their five. According to the invitational scoring format they won. Who cares. You people are taking this thing way too far. The race has been over for almost a week now, it is old news. Neither team has given it more than a second thought. Neither team is peaking, and who cares where a person declares residency. All of this is over ONE race. Get over it, because there are way more interesting things happening right now in cross country than the Rocky Mountain Shoot Out.

Article 2c.

Although the 6th and 7th runners of a team to finish do not score points towards their teams total, their places, if better than those of any of the first 5 of an opposing team, serve to increase the team score of the opponents.
