As long as it "looked official."

No. I walked away from Running-Log with FULL backups. It's because I actually tried to back up my data. And you, sir, are a dick.

Those are the phone numbers for this web hosting company. I haven't tried them yet, but it's worth a shot to call and see what can be done.

If I had, I surely would have backed my shit up.
That sounds kind of gross.
Like everyone else, I am completely devastated by the loss of r-log. Not only were my logs since 2003 lost, but priceless posts on our team forums are gone now too. If there's anything I can do to get my logs back, I'd like to know.
The site was about more than just posting miles to me. I posted just about everything that happened in all of my runs. Who I ran with, what we talked about, how I felt, what was on my mind, etc. My race stories, injury information, shoe information...all gone.
Please help. :(
At this point it appears the data is gone and the website forever vanished.
I am now asking that wejo let letsrun go dark for one day in mourning of the lost data. I propose the whole site be a black page for 24 hours.
I also think one of the many lawyers who frequent letrun should consider some pro bono work and agree to sue running-log for the loss of the data.
I would agree except haven't given up on getting the data back yet. Seriously, if enough people call and complain to this web host, they'll look into it. If one person calls/emails and then gives up, that does nothing.
Yes, I have done the same!! Call, e-mail, complain!!
You can go here: http://helpdesk.ehostingbiz.com/ create a username and launch a complaint...don't know if it'll do any good. I've been on the phone with this people quite a few times and I keep getting disconected after being on hold for 16min. One time I got through to ask a few questions and they said they couldn't tell me anymore since I wasn't the owner of the website. Next time I call I'm just going to be a dick until someone helps me out.
We have only our data to get back - it's clear if we do nothing then all is lost....
I e-mailed and will call on Monday - no response as yet. If we don't hear anything letting others know about the lack of back up on this cite and our data loss posted on a few dozen tech sites might bring some action
Monday! Any word?

I lit a candle last night and placed it in my window as a sign of hope and prayer that the data could be restored.
I suggest you do the same.
RunningAHEAD.com also has a really good log. So good that RunnersWorld licensed it from them (but RW is not getting updates and improvements that RA is). The people over on RA are kinda lame, esp. the so called "high mileage" runners who think they know everything.
I too lost all of my logs from running-log.com...these dated back to 2002, and like everyone else I wish I could have them back...also, I never backed up my logs which is definitely something I regret and will do from now on, but my point is...it really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I know I ran a lot of miles over those years. How many? I will never really know but it is really not the end of the world...it just means that i have no record of the exact amount...it sounds to me like lots of people just need something to gripe about...just get on with your running, get over the lost logs, and quit wasting time and breath fighting a losing battle...yes it sucks but...move on.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VclHtnoTqRAHaha, definitely. Ya, we could just get over the loss of our logs or we can fight to get it back. I'm not sure how many times I've used this example, but I'm using it again. When you get in an accident and your insurance company should pay up but they're being jerks about it and making you jump through hoops to get your 1000's of dollars do you just say, well screw this, I'm not going to bother, I'll just give up. No, you keep calling and complaining untill you get your freaking money.
Well this is no different. Sure we could just get over it, but personally my logs were worth more to me than any car and I'm not going to stop calling and fighting to get them back just cause some "insurance company" is trying to stiff me.
Here is my solution to an online running log. Start an excel spreadsheet. Most of you guys are good with excel anyways. Add whatever formulas, fields, etc you want to add. After your run everyday update the spreadsheet. I store mine online on my gmail account. To do this I email it to myself everyday (I open up the old email first, add my changes to the file, save locally, then respond to my own email with the new version of the excel file). Gmail has pretty much unlimited storage, and you can set up a filter named "Running Log" that contains all of your running log emails. I am always adding new fields and enhancements to my Running Log Spreadsheet, and I can get to my spreadsheet anywhere that has internet and microsoft office installed. Screw the log websites that are limited in their fields to add. I get MY fields and MY formulas that are ever-changing and expanding. I also get whatever graphs and shit I want.

NONE of that helps us get our data back. Try to be part of the solution.
u all shuda joined Running2win.com
running2win sucks, I tried it before because I was fearful of an r-log shutdown and I was definitely not impressed. Flotrackr seems like the best alternative to r-log right now, even though Branton seems to be bringing it back (?)
