My Dad's friends from his fraternity (Delta Chi) always had a big get together every Christmas. There are probably about 6-8 guys and their wives who would meet and play bridge once a month except in December when they would have the Christmas Party. That's when all of us kids got to go. I was the 2nd youngest in this group of kids. All of they guys were WW2 vets so yeah, this goes back a long time to the late 40's. Anyway, due to space limitations I sat at the "kids" table until I was 23 and I'm 59 now! It was a lot of fun and we had a good time at the "kids" table. Sadly, my Dad (age 93) and one other guy are the only males left. Maybe four of the wives are left. Not a single divorce among them! Due to their health they no longer meet. Kind of sad. I never found it humiliating to sit at the kids table, not even at age 23.
