LOL! I'm sure it was the same guy. At first I told myself "don't be paranoid, I'm sure he's not thinking about trying to race me" but every time he looked back it reaffirmed my suspicions. He "beat" me too, but I knew that he wasn't going to last long...he was hurting. He passed me about a quarter mile before Thompson's and I'm sure he didn't make it much further than that. I'm glad I didn't play his game.
Maybe tomorrow I'll whip out the racing flats!

Today was 90 minutes total; 15 min warm up, 15 min cool down; The main part was supposed to be 2X 26 min tempo, 4 min easy, but I was only able to tempo the first half because my shin was bugging me (that's what I get for running 3 days in a row). I drove out to a dirt farm road out in the middle of nowhere and of course it was muddy. At least I didn't lose my keys again, but my little Honda was not meant for mudding and I almost got stuck. Then while I was running, I kept hitting patches of mud. And I was trying to run fast so I kept sliding all over the place and there were parts where the mud was so deep it went up to my ankles and added an extra ten pounds to my feet. Time to go hose off.

OMFG I did it. After my day shift, feeling like a zombie....I didn't think...I just did it....changed....RAN....feeling completely tired and stiff....the result of a stressful couple of shifts.....but it was so wonderful to be outside. 45min easy + 4x100m incline strides. Nowhere near as exciting as a txRUNNERgirl run, but hey!

Glut is still bothering me, so my cross training continues:
am - 20 minute skip rope + 60 minute easy elliptical
pm - 30:30 minute mini-fartlek on elliptical (12 minutes easy; 7 x :30 hard with 2:30 easy) + 3 x 10 minutes skip rope (2 minutes in between to recover from numb feet)
Well, back to doing my evening rehab ...

65 minutes from the house to the riverfront bike path. Down to the bridge across. Other side was closed and under construction, so i retraced my steps. Sunny outside, lots of pillowy pollen in the air. Beautiful day to be out and I was in a better mood after having gotten it in.

That's interesting, I do this session with my lads. There is one idiot who always blasts the last one in around 39 though, he's a right tool.
Nothing wrong with that, a 39 on the end of those 7 would be good, I mean the last 300m of a race is usually the fastest.

I hope you are just kidding. You bring up a good point to make: In any good workout, you MUST have the ability to finish well. If you are too knackered to do this, then the workout was too hard / destructive. Discuss.

30 minute tempo run in the forest. Did not turn out well. First I had an encounter with a somewhat aggressive-looking moose, then I ran into rusty barbed wire (my thighs are not a pretty sight).
10:AM - 20 miles staying between M-Pace and E-Pace with total duration 2:41:31.
Towmorrow will rest before starting all over again.
No run today.

I just finished a 72:19 easy + 4x100m inclined runs. Awesome. Sunny and warm. Feeling fitter and fitter as the weeks go by. Still cannot comprehend my recent races. Will do much better in the Ottawa 5k. Look forward to short recovery 6x800m or 12x400m tomorrow....
