Your interpretation is one possible take on the situation, and shared by some others. That does not make it right. Yes, I do like to know names. I just think it is too easy and cheap to slam someone anonymously.
When the thread was introduced, I offered to be part of developing a list of top performances in road and cross-country this Fall. I did not think this was a bad thing, and thought it might contribute to discussion about "top clubs". Surely performance would be part of what makes a top running club, yes ??? Agreed, only one part.
Please note that I didn't mention PIH or my own coaching or whatever, until long after the slagging started. Slagging tends to take threads off topic, in my experience. I am sorry you think I am all about "me". I
am actually all about the sport of distance running, and
feel good that I am in a place to hopefully play a positive role in the ongoing development of the sport on the Island, in BC, and in Canada. All the best, Neil.

Yes, indeed. Very cool resource. Like I say, there's usually a bit of a lag between races and the rankings updates, but still it's an excellent source of info.

I'd love to hear a someone back this one up. Back in the day, no doubt they had a number of studs (and studettes), but who do they currently have that would rank them among the top clubs in Canada.

I hope you can make it down for Saturday AM...should be a fun run, especially after it's over :)
JB is flying across the Atlantic on Sunday, so will do his last long run on Saturday... I have suggested he is being a pudding and should run the 3K as a warmup for his long run .....we will see...
SQW has ongoing injury issues since his prep. for WTC in Switzerland, but I'm sure he will show if you confirm your entry....
Seriously though, I expect somewhere around 30 +/- folks having a bit of a go on Saturday, finishing anywhere over
8 minutes and below 16, and anything in between. I expect you to be somewhere in that zone, hopefully closer to the former than the latter....P.S. There will be no
medical support at the finish line, skuj, so stay in the zone....

I never really had a track season. Only started consistent training in July. That's why this 3000m excites me, even if it's just a "training get-together". I will "run hard"! I told my CVRR friends that I wanted to do some "trials" in September. Maybe Stoner will join us. Yes, please do have medical support, especially if I'm anywhere near 9:45. :)
And stop swearing. (P*****g!)
Agreed that Spartans are not even the top club in Calgary at the moment.

Harvey's road career is decent.
Myers has done nothing lately (ever?).
Kroshus has been out of Calgary for a while.
A couple semi-decent juniors with potential (Kendall, Kimick, de Lange) but no one close to a national championship.
