I was talking about the 5000, the 10000
European confidence in the distance have returned. American confidence in the distance should have (and will, as soon as there's a medal or two falling that way). Australia and New Zeeland having a youth boom right now. The 1500/Mile is everywhere full of talents, some of them will realize the don't have the kick for that short, and move up. The Diamond League have already slowly begun to re-add the 5000, there were lots of fast races last year.

I think 57:20 is the official time. Not a surprise that he got the record, but also shows that not ratifying his 56:42 from Barcelona was probably the right thing to do since it's such an outlier.
