Wyoming's State Meet takes place over THREE days, and he was able to run this schedule (the meet is held in Casper at an elevation above 5000 feet):
Thursday - 3200 Final - mid-day
Friday - 800 Final - morning
Friday - 400 prelims - early evening
Saturday - 1600 Final - morning
Saturday - 400 Final - afternoon
McCreery's feat is impressive, because it is the largest class and his times were excellent considering Casper wind always blows hard and competition in that class is always pretty good. I remember him lowering his head, charging into the wind every lap on the mile. Very windy that day. Results below.
The triple happens all the time in Wyoming, because of the three day set-up. A runner from my high school won the triple two years in a row, but the times were not blazing. This year a a girl and a boy in Class 3A won the 400-3200 quad. It was the first time for a boy since McCreery.
