Chinese Shoe Thread

Was searching around to see if any sites had the Feidian 6 Elite cheaper than on AliExpress since I've been seeing a lot of hype from FOD Runner, and came across this:

Looks sketchy, not sure if I should pull the trigger or just wait for them to go on sale on Ali.

My feet measure 9.5 and I normally wear men's size 10 (US) and 43.5 has worked great for the Chinese shoes I've tried so far. Unfortunately the Dynafish Xiaonian doesn't seem to have the same half size increments so I was thinking about going down to 43 instead of 44. Would this make sense?

Where are you getting them from, taobao? I bit the bullet and paid extra for them off of Ali so they had half sizes from resellers there.

I would say they're pretty TTS but you could probably get away with going down to 43.

Also just update but someone told me the Red Hare 9 Ultra and Feidian 6 Elite are both being sold by Li Ning directly on Amazon for cheaper than AliExpress atm. Going to buy them and see how it goes, apparently the new Boom Capsule tech is super legit.

Yeah, I was looking at Mulebuy/Taobao but even when I look at Ali I still only see full size increments. Do you have a link to a seller that has it in half sizes?

Unfortunately it seems like the link I used before that had half sizes sold out. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see another one pop up though

I'm thinking about buying the Dynafish Xiaonian. I've only ordered of Aliexpress. What shopping agent (I don't want to give China my passport) would be cheapest to purchase a single order? How about larger orders. What shopping agent is the most fair with prices?

I got my Taobao shipment to the Eastern US in exactly 30 days via Cainiao shipping. So far, I've run in the Do-Win Critical 3.0 (60 minute easy run) and the Qiaodan Plaid 2.0 (sub-T with 10x3 min intervals).

The Critical 3.0 are heavy (~320 g in EU 45). They are firm and boring and will probably last forever, which is fine for a daily trainer with a blend of traditional and super foam. There are lots of Chinese daily trainers around the same price point (~$40) or slightly more expensive that are probably lighter and more comfortable.

The Plaid 2.0 are interesting. The sock upper is tricky to get into and I experienced more heel slip than I like, rubbing the outside of my ankle a little raw through my sock. The midsole is fantastic, but I think the shoe is a bit much for paces faster than HMP. I was thinking of using them in an upcoming 10-miler, but I found it hard to get the turnover I needed to squeeze that last bit of pace.

Anyone got recommendations for Chinese trail shoes?

Has anyone run in the red hare 9 pro (not ultra)? How does it compare to the red hare 8 pro?

Could Li-ning Feidian Challenger 5 make a good race shoe for 5k-10k distances for 18 min 5k, 37 min 10k paces? I do have slightly wide feet but I can make most shoes work with adjustments.

I'm well past my prime so hard to justify buying a $200+ race shoe like a metaspeed. Challenger on Aliexpress is pretty tempting at under $100 for a shoe with a super foam, plate, & being light weight. I also worry they'll stop selling it soon with Challenger 6 being released, but per reviews 6 is not nearly as good.

Or if there's a/another race shoe on Ali that's also not expensive. I don't really want to mess with Taobao.

I definitely think so. The Challenger 5 to me felt very comparable to the Puma DNE3, more substantial and aggressive but on the same level of speed if not better.

Anyone tried Xtep 2000KM 3.0? Heard some good thing about them.

You're paying wayyyy too much for a pair of running shoes.
I can find plenty of good running shoes on AliExpress in the range of $18 to $36.
