At the same Jefferson Meet Noella Ross goes 2:13 for season opener in the 800m.
Coming up we have a our first big couple outdoor meets, Lake Conf. Relays is the biggest meet this week. Friday at Hopkins.
Great to see the sprint factory continue to invest in distance. They will soon give St. Olaf a run for their money as too small school distance program.

On the AAA side, Sean could get the state record if he can get in a fast race with good weather somewhere. Is he running Arcadia or can MN not run there? There is a chance someone could challenge him in the mile this year as well.
It would be sad if MN can’t run there. Grady Lenn from WI just ran there and an 8:39 3200
Stuwe 4:14
Fries 4:15
Last time Stuwe (or anyone from Minnesota in his class or below) beat Fries in any long-distance event was 2024 track
That's impressive! I honestly didn't Fries would lose a race this year in the 1600 or 3200 after how he dominated the Cross Country season so good for Stuwe. Hopefully we get to see them race next week at Hamline!
Last two days to qualify for Hamline! Here are the Class A kids currently "in" as of today (800m+):
Isaac Rasmussen (1600) and Judah Allen (3200) could make the cut but there are faster indoor-eligible times that knock them out of the top 16. Still a chance they get in with withdrawals but they're definitely "on the bubble" and not in.
Isabel Pass is 17th in the 3200m and could make it on withdrawals - doesn't look like Nova has a meet today or tomorrow.
Wind across the state today looks less than ideal, but Tuesday's weather looks fantastic (low humidity and very little wind) and we often see athletes get in on the last Tuesday. My guess is the bubble athletes are all going to be on the outside looking in unless they run a faster time.
Farah from Owatonna 9:32 at Pony Classic. Big improvement from last spring

What events do we think Flippen and Stuwe will do at Hamline. I'm sure Sean is doing 3200 but its hard to say for the other 2.
That's a good question. For Sean it definitely seems the longer the race the better. Flippen clearly is strong in the 800 but I'd say Goergen, Peterson, and Donaldson might still be better. The 1600 might be best for both Stuwe and Flippen and it would likely be a great race between the two. A 1600 race between Sean, Stuwe, Flippen and Semling would be amazing to watch but I'm not sure we will get that at Hamline. Also Peterson has become of really good 1600 runner, throw him in that mix too. It will be interesting to see what they all chose for Hamline, and if anyone of them try to double up by running 2 of the events.
