Last I checked racism isn’t a side effect of intoxication. I’ve got drunk a fair number of times in college and occasionally got “white girl” wasted im my 20s and didn’t start dropping n-bombs. You know why? Because I’m not a racist and don’t use those terms in private.

an internatoinal company i used to work for had a policy that yuo could be fired for drunken behaviour but if you went to hr with a drinking problem they would support you.

we all learnt, if behaving badly on alcohol to say; you think this is bad? you should have seen me last week.

OP, how old are you? people go through phases like this in their 20s. maybe early 30s. it's not okay, but it happens. for those with a decent head on their shoulders, it's a massive wake up call to grow up. If you don't have a good head on your shoulders, and possibly have a drinking problem, you may continue to make stupid decisions.

the level of trouble you're in will probably have to do with how you made the particular people there feel. if somebody there was really offended and really wants you gone, there's a good chance you'll be looking for another job.

really tough spot to be in, but as others have pointed out, it's not the end of the world.

In the rare chance this is not a troll thread, I think the OP needs to ask himself why he wants to make those kinds of comments in the first place. That’s the first problem.

Next, it’s never okay to finish more than one drink at a work function. If you finish the first, it’s fine to order and sip a second, but do not finish it. I am correct about this; only bad can come from it if you continue to drink.

I can't imagine being a full grown adult and forfeiting your agency to a bottle. The wine only "keeps flowing" if you keep drinking it. And the fact that some waitress has filled a glass and placed it in front of you does not mean that you have to drink it.

I go to plenty of events where alcohol is plentiful. I enjoy a beer or two at these events, because getting sloppy drunk is embarrassing even if you don't say anything overtly offensive.

Alcohol Use Disorder is classified by the government as a Disability. Your employer is required to provide reasonable accommodation.
