Wejo's brother, Robert, was a 1:07:10/2:23:11 sub elite. Can't see any track times listed, but I'm thinking 14:50-15:00/30:40-31:00 with those credentials would fit. Interesting. The gap between Wejo and Rojo is not as large as that between Jose and Ozzie Canseco, and that is not largely due to Jose’s steroid use. I am surprised that you are surprised by this. It happens more often than you may think.
Thank you, I follow distance running but honestly feel I know more about the landscape in other countries than our own! The lads podcast turned me off ages back with the laughing at themselves segments but they have good guests! Must give it a go, - just maybe not while running so I can have a bit more volume control.

Genetics is to our time what Divine Intervention was to the Middle Ages, a catch all explanation for the unexplainable. Research has been done on this, I used to cite it in my professor days, showing that about half of the explanation for things people do is to heredity and about half is to environment. It's true that twins usually grow up in the same environment but even so they aren't the same people and will not always respond to the same stimuli identically. My oldest son's high school track teams had a set of identical twins. They were very different people, ran very different events, and have lived very different lives.

Treacy a known heel striker and would have ran who knows what in the shoes which really help heel strikers.
Curtin is cracked.. ran that marathon solo and with a 3.25 first km. Not a flat course but fairly quick second half. Seems a mad choice doing Singapore next but maybe he's practicing for the hot ones like LA!
Are you referring to any shoe with a carbon plate, or does a specific model really exist for heel strikers?
I understand fatigue in second half and all that. But, someone who can run a 1:00 half, runs a 2:07?

Absolutely right, the best half marathoners/marathoners have this calculated: double the half marathon best (e.g. 1:00:00) + 5 minutes, = 2 hours 5 minutes.
That's why I mentioned that Curtin, in future, has 2:05:00 potential. Potential doesn't always manifest, but it's there.
