We no longer have conversations in good faith in this country anymore. Trans participation in sports is a nuanced discussion that requires good faith considerations across the board. That is not the foundation that any of these conversations happen on, so you get absurd comments from both sides.
An example of bad faith: the way LetsRun piles on the issue regularly.
Rojo, why is it that every crazy person that does something or says something has to be representative of the "left" as a whole? I assure you there are very few people on the left who agree with what this candidate for governor said or that agree with physically attacking JK Rowling. Yet, you try to hold the entire left accountable for it as if it's some monolithic thing where everyone holds the exact same views and opinions.
I had a long email discussion with a visitor today about this and I very much disagreed with both his and your assertion that I said this was representative of the left as a whole.
I tried to keep politics out of this. If you notice, the word Democrat doesn't appear on the front page. It doesn't appear in the title and it didn't appear on any post I made on the firs thread of this thing. If a republican said something this stupid, I would highlight it as well.
But now that we are talking politics, I don't agree with your assertion that "very few people on the left" agree with this candidate. The reality is earlier this year only 45% of Dems supported making trans athletes compete in the category of their birth. Read about this here:

You called the left violent but claim here that you tried to keep politics out of it just because you didn’t explicitly use the word Democrat? You serious right now?
Edit: I realize now you meant on the first page while the comment I referenced was in the second page. Still, I’m not sure using the first 20 posts as an arbitrary cutoff really disproves my point.

This is problematic thinking. The discussion about trans individuals competing in sports should be an entire different topic. Obviously more testosterone is an advantage. However, MAGA has poisoned the discussion on trans individuals overall. How does adding pronouns to email signatures affect you in any real way?—It doesn’t. The bathroom issue is ridiculous, it’s a bathroom. Trans people are not molesting kids in bathrooms. Pedophiles are an entire different subset. MAGA politicians have gone as far as to say they want to eliminate trans ideology from society. This is incredibly discriminatory and evil. We’re talking about people here! 99.9% of trans people don’t take part in competitive sports. They’re just trying to live their lives how they choose to.
Constantly pushing the discussion and demonizing the ridiculously minuscule percentage of trans people that compete in sport and extrapolating that to discriminate against an entire subset of people is pretty demonic.
How do pronouns affect others? One way is that it is trying to force people to affirm things that are not true, such as a man telling people to refer to him as she/her, or they/them, or any of the completely made up pronouns. If a man wants to pretend to be a woman that is their right, but they do not the right to forces others to say they are a woman or refer to them as anything other than a man.
As far as bathrooms, as a woman I do not want to be in a public bathroom or locker room with a man, regardless if he pretends to be a woman. It is a basic privacy issue. For you to say it's ridiculous tells me you are most likely a man.
You comment about a "ridiculously miniscule percentage of trans people that compete is sports" also tells me that you must be a man. It doesn't matter how large or small the number is. Men do not belong in women's sports. They have biological and physiological advantages. Just because a man pretends to be a woman, they are still a man, no matter how many hormones they take or surgeries they have. They are not being discriminated against. They are welcome to complete in sports - men's sports - they have no right to compete with women.
Even the liberal Senator from Hawaii admits men have physiological differences over women, when it suits her narrative: "One question I had is that you are now requiring applicants to be able to do a certain kind of pull-ups, which a lot of women cannot because of physiological differences. Are you requiring these kinds of pull-ups?" Hirono asked.
I think you missed the point of my post, but that’s OK, I don’t expect much. Also, you, for sure have already been in the bathroom with the trans woman. You probably wouldn’t know.
Open category? So all 10 unstable biologycal men, and Biological female full of testosterone Nikki Hiltz, can gave their own "special" category. Ridiculous. There is no such thing as non-binary or "they."
I agree. I was posting the article and quote because many people, even on this board have tried to suggest an open category as a solution. This article includes the video and quote from a man who pretends to be a woman even admits he wouldn’t compete in an open category because it would be all men.

It is not a nuanced discussion. Men, including men who pretend to be women, do not belong in women’s sports. Period.

No, I didn’t miss the point. You think it’s fine for men to be in women’s bathrooms. You think it’s fine for men to compete in women’s sports because it’s a “minuscule” number, even though we see and read about this regularly. It’s easy to support this when it has no effect on you. There are clear biological, physiological, chromosomal differences between men and women. And no comment about a liberal who admitted to it out loud? If you don’t like Fox News you can find this video on many other news sources.
Just got off a conference call with Ms Yee. She said she thinks Rojo may break 3 hours by LA 28.
ROFL ROFL ROFL
Is it worse if she's a liar or worse if she is just that misinformed or dumb?
“Is it worse if she's a liar or worse if she is just that misinformed or dumb?”
That question has been asked about our POTUS millions of times and his opinions and subsequent actions, have infinitely more consequence than what Yee thinks about male and female athletes.

This thread is not about Donald Trump. I think this is what you're looking for:
It’s California. A land where they believe men can give birth and males are allowed to compete in the girl’s division. Stranger things have happened: A woman won the decathlon in 1976 in Montreal.

Ms Jenner WAS a great athlete and is currently a GOOD Republican. :)

What power will Yee ever have regarding transgender athlete policies in California? It couldn’t matter less what she thinks about the issue. HS transgender athletes are already allowed to compete in California, anyway.
I mentioned Trump as an example from the millions of people your rhetorical question is applicable to. I seriously doubt that you’ve never injected Biden in a thread about someone else.
I mean when Piers teed her up with "can you think of a single sport in the Olympics where men would not have an advantage over women, with the exception potentially of archery?", I was like "please, don't say it - please don't do it....and she says it".
The answer is equestrian. Men have not won any medal in individual dressage since 1996. Men have advantage in jumping, as the best finishing woman in Paris was 8th. They are about even in the combined event (eventing).
One thing I've picked up on that I think is the case, I don't think these people (like Yee), understand that the Olympics are not about participation because if they were, anybody could just enter in them and we know why this doesn't work. I think that this is by far the biggest misconception/lack of education. I have this funny feeling that they think the Olympics are an open event like a major marathon is. Fill in your entry form, pay your entry fee with a basic level of ability and hope you get in. The people they see out jogging at lunchtimes run in the Olympics don't they? Her narrative was "participation rights for all" - but again, the Olympics aren't about participation rights for all and those rights start with physical ability before we even get to biology.
Are high school and middle school sports about participation? Or is winning everything and the only thing in high school and middle school sports?
Are "major marathons" about participation? If a trans woman enters a major marathon as a woman and finishes in the mid-pack, is it an existential threat to women's sport?

rojo is a really stupid person, don't try logic with him, it just makes him feel inferior and he lashes out.
This website needs to be deleted entirely from the internet, it's gotten that bad.

Don't expect any "nuanced discussion" on this message board. That does not drive page vew counts, the only thing brojo care about.
The business model of this message board is to drive clicks with inflammatory rhetoric and sensationalist subtitles.
