I’m ok with NBA games not being held together with WNBA games
Same for Tour De France for men and women being held at different times
Also ok with women only competitions and men only competitions in track and field and also ok when they are held together. They have that type of dynamic in tennis.
This is actually shocking coming from a meet like this. Such a disappointment and ultimately The Athlos meet is all hype and no real racing. It looks good on camera, but the energy, competition, and authenticity just aren’t there. Track doesn’t need more marketing it needs real moments that mean something. And there is an obvious leadership role problem
In the last two decades or so, women's track has received full equity with their male counterparts. One could even argue that it's unbalanced, as up until this year, there was a significant amount of more money and scholarships spent on women's track and field in the collegiate system compared to men. On the pro level, most, if not all, shoe brands are more invested into femaled contracts than male contracts.
Why not allow men to compete at ATHLOS? It's discriminatory and there really isn't two ways about it.
bottom line is Athlos has strong marketing and deep pockets, but little athletic love. It’s viewed by some as a “showy exhibition” rather than a serious meet. Until it feels earned, athlete first, and competitively meaningful, many top women will keep their distance and offer no support
The Athlos meet was certainly athlete first. Those athletes that competed were treated very well, each received their own individual introduction, and every athlete that competed/finished received a cash prize.
All of the competition was competitively meaningful. The prize money alone made it very competitively meaningful due to the large cash awards and differences in prize money awarded between every single finishing place.
The competition was competitively meaningful as exhibited by the outstanding quality of many of the performances. Tara Davis Woodall's long jump was the world leading jump for this season. Brittany Brown completed an outstanding double and her 200 meter time was the fifth fastest in the world this year. Faith Kipyegon's mile time was the seventh fastest in the world this year, while Gudaf Tsegay's time was the 13th fastest. Keely Hodgkinson's 800 meter time was the 13th fastest in the world this year.
Brown, Kipyegon, Woodall and others produced their season's best performance at the Athlos meet.
Hundreds of meets every year and you are crying about a single meet for women only?
And a face of the meet getting arrested for Domestic abuse. it supports exactly what it’s supposed to stand against. You can’t preach integrity while protecting bad behavior for your owners / board members.

Athlos turns a bind eye to sexism and domestic abuse and poor leadership.
OP - would you watch an all-male for real or are you just trying to be provocative?
I have great respect for women, but except if they're incredibly hot, why would you want to watch women's sports? Except in true long-distance, you'd get better performances from high school boys...

Let the women have their own meet. As long as no trans freaks agitate to try and get into the competition so they can live their dream of prancing in front of a crowd while wearing bun-huggers, everything is fine.
That’s it in a nutshell.
Look at what the trans bunch did at a peaceful feminist conference, just because they actually hate real women.
Trans activists have smashed one of the large front windows of the Brighton Centre - the venue where 2500 feminists are meeting this weekend to talk about male violence, misogyny and the like. Why can't EVERYONE see this movement for what it is? pic.twitter.com/pqeYpV3pSe
Why can’t we just be thankful that I organization like ATHLOS is stepping up and providing this opportunity. Get it started and show that it’s got some teeth and then expand. And I don’t know this for certain, but I would assume that female athletes right now are more marketable than the men.
We are OK with ATHLOS being just for women because we are not incel losers. There are women in our lives, we like them and are happy to see them succeed, and we are not giant losers who need a finisher's medal for having an XY chromosome.
I wonder if you would keep that same energy when a mens spin off of athlos makes more money than the women and pays the men better. Probably not?
Track and Field is the one of the few sports where women and men are both equal as exciting and when they are together actually make the event as a whole better.
We want Athlos to let men to race because if we're going to pay a lot of money to go to a track meet, it would be nice to see two finals (men/women) of the 1600m and not just one.
But yeah jump to calling people incels, very logical argument when no one here is hating on women. Just hating on the obvious pandering that people like you fall for so you can pat yourself on the back.
