James Comey to be indicted for lying to Congress

I am thinking this is highly possible, but even if not the trial seems problematic unless McCabe has actual evidence. It seems to come down to the word of Andrew McCabe v James Comey. McCabe has his own credibility issues here since Jeff Sessions (under Trump) fired McCabe to leaking the info. This seems a bit like McCabe is trying to take some of the tarnish off his reputation.

Regardless this really stinks of more Trump using the power of government and lawfare against his enemies.

Comey handed Trump the win on a platter in 2016 and this is his payment. Oh well...

this is basically the same as desperately asking ukraine to indict biden before the election, except they had a pliable prosecutor this time willing to risk their license and file.

as trump has made clear with his "innocent or guilty" comments, the idea is indict, make the smear good, then worry about if a court tosses it. if the court tosses it or they lose, a likely outcome, you then cry to conservative media and moan about the courts. you never admit this was made up.

so it's already served its purpose, trump will talk until his last days about how comey was really the criminal of the two -- even if the case is tossed. even though trump is the actual felon.

the courts still somewhat exist in the fact based community, as opposed to spin world. in the fact based world, trump was convicted of a felony and sentenced, his business was convicted of fraud, he was found liable on defamation, and he had some criminal charges dismissed when he won the election and/or got immunity.
