No update from him or George Mills. I kind think you can’t have it both ways - all this confident chat, constantly updating your social media.. then when it goes wrong - silence.
Nobody expected them to give an interview straight away for sure. But I think it would be good to get more information. Or if you don’t want to share - then change your public persona.
Laros shouod have fking won and William Wallace wannabe in second position. It’s such a fked up world championships as all the athletes been surreptitiously fked by directed energy weapons. Who the fk brings their smartphone and ear pieces into the call room and warm up area? Just asking to be fked up by directed energy weapons. I never saw Fermin Cacho nor Daniel Komen bring a single electronic device to the race and warmup venue and here we have Noah Lyles fking himself up with all his gadgets and possibly opening himself up to the CIA tapping his devices and stealing information from his nearfield biofield.
They just hook up your phones to a special server and get your heartrate, pulse rate, ECG, EEG, all brain attributes and turn it into a weapon sending it back to you at the warmup venue and you feel lethargic and have a calf strain, Achilles flare up, stomach problem, headache. Come race time you are already fked up no matter how many coffee and EPO you digest.
Kerr was so fked in the calves he didn’t even bother to tell us spectators wtf happened to him. He is such a loser only celebrates his wins like William Wallace of Braveheart but when he loses he is timid as a snail .”
Btw credit to Steve cram of bbc for first mentioning Josh Kerr is the William Wallace character in brave heart back in 2023 Budapest 1500m finals. Steve was ecstatic for Kerr.
Congradulations Mr. Wannabe for the best hysterical nonsensical CONSPIRACY THEORY RANT I think I have ever read on LRC. And there has been a few good ones. Energy weapons!! Of course. That explains everything. I needed a good chuckle this morning. Thanks.
Are you crazy? I would never out a person for something that likely is still a sore subject somewhere in the annals of his mind.
People can say anything they want online. Your anecdote is extremely improbable and without documentation, it doesn’t add anything to the thread.
I certainly suppose that’s true, but why would I take the time to make something like that up? And again, what kind of person would I be if I doxx’ed somebody like that?
Doesn’t matter at this point anyway- there’s obviously some significant asymmetry between his right and left calves in the picture, so some type of trauma has happened. Any PT’s/docs out there that can explain what a grade 2 tear is? You’d think that there would be bruising in a muscle tear…what’s the reason for not aquajogging, but actual jogging in the pool?
I believe he was injured in the final but why is he photoshopping pics of his calf then. The one of him on crutches in his hotel room looks altered. Why do that?
Actually on closer inspection it is probably tape on the back of his leg that makes the outline look weird. Apologies.

OK. What injury did he fake and in what part of the race? Did he drop out or jog to the finish? What was his PR going into the race compared to the others? Did he confess to you that he faked the injury? Was there any prior indication that would do such a thing? Was there some type of personal stress that caused it to happen? What did your coach think about it and did it cost him a scholarship? If I was a college coach, I would be very concerned he would do it again.

He faked a pulled hamstring, and limped to the finish. His best that year had him close to two other guys, but he had beat them both during the season. He and I worked on a lawn crew that summer after graduation, and he did confess to me what he did. I honestly felt bad for him more than anything. The pressure and expectations just got to him and he cracked. Everyone (including me) thought it was real, so coach definitely wasn’t upset. Did not cost him a scholarship. As I said, he ended up winning two national championships and making an Olympic team. Haven’t seen him in a long time, but is a great guy. Pretty smart as well. Look, we’re all human. We all have faults and lapses in judgement or mental clarity. It happens. It’s just part of life. Pressure (usually self imposed) and angst can make us do strange things or actions outside our normal character. The hope is that it doesn’t do something that negatively affects our life in the future (suicide, road rage, etc). That Suzy Hamilton race fall is another great example, by the way.

It’s still a massive outlier. Was he overcome with self doubt and couldn’t handle the shame of losing? And he went as far as faking a limp?
What he did would not be excused by just being human. As for Suzy Hamilton, did he go on to become a male escort?

FFS. Give the guys a break. They will get to it when they get to it.
There is no way he pulled it in that race. He looked off from the start. He is not a middle aged man, elite athletes like him do not get the pulled calf monster bite them out of nowhere. Did he have an issue throughout the summer? Feel something during the warm up?
Agree with the two posts. Grant Fisher and Jacob Ingerbrigtsen had bad races and were really disappointed but took the time and talk to their fans through the media after the race.
That is just professional.
When you finish a race with calf strain, your first order of business is medical. And, that's not just the athlete's the decision, it comes from the coach, team doctor, etc.

Believe what you want to believe, amigo. Nothing I say would convince you otherwise.

It was somewhat meaningless discussion, anyway. Kerr is a fierce competitor and your teammates experiences in no way support any theory that Kerr quit in the 1500m final.

Watch the video. He tells you exactly what happened. I agree with those stating he looked off from the gun.

Definitely meaningless discussion between us, and a waste of both of our time. Nothing either of us said would ever change the others opinion.

I can live with that. Are we in agreement that Kerr is as though as nails, and there was nothing mental about what happened to him in Tokyo?
He did more damage by finishing the race after the pull, but I respect him more for doing so and fully agree with his mindset and reasoning.
He put in years of effort to get to that point, and already finished over half the race. I am sure he was in emotional and perhaps physical agony after it pulled, but every distance runner knows that just finishing the race has to be a primary basic goal.
And he at least accomplished that goal as best he could.

I think after seeing the pic of his calves in comparison, I’d say this seems to be a legit injury. I don’t agree with the whole tough as nails comment, however. I think he’s a prima donna that does only what is best for himself. And before you freak out again, remember that we’re all entitled to an opinion- even if you don’t agree with it.

Definitely. I saw it in high school. Guy on my team had won the state championship in the mile his junior year and was a heavy favorite to repeat our senior year. The pressure got to him and he faked a hamstring injury and limped home at state. He actually ended up winning two national championships in college and made an Olympic team. We’re all human but I guarantee you that it still bothers him. I sort of feel like another good example would be Michael Johnson versus Donovan Bailey in that head to head years ago.
We need a name. If the guy was an Olympian it's a great story to tell.
Wejo, really? How in the World can you fall for stupid sheet like that. You know the type of people who post on this message board. I've never heard of any elite faking an injury, but you'll accept BS from an unhinged and anonymous person?
