The thread title, didn't initialy have D'Amato's last name in it. The NY Times article states the following: "Real life is full of loose ends, and that message was underscored for Ms. D’Amato when, a few months after she finished writing the book, her marriage ended.

I will. Why do we act like she is doing something evil? Unless you are some sort of bible thumper, divorce is routine and commonplace. Maybe there was no crime here, maybe they just don't want to be married? Its not like she was busted for drugs. Who cares. Her running story was truly interesting to me, that was nuts.
She did nothing evil, but from the story being told so far, she did something(s) incredibly selfish. Moved her life across the country and then decided to split up with her (seemingly) supportive husband to chase a dream that is rapidly fading away. Running is an inherently selfish pursuit, but this seems to be an extreme case, especially with their kids being the ages that they are.
Like I said above, she was a truly compelling story 5 years ago. Seems like she's wrecking more than just her life at this point.
Divorce is common and running being viewed as selfish is also common but this is some next level stuff.
1) Make the kids and husband move to Utah so you can run, when are like 40 and almost no longer relevant?
2) Divorce husband right after moving there.
3) Unless he did something drastically different than during the first 10+ years of the marriage, she 100% should have notified him of her desire to divorce before moving.

First, I understand that people get divorced. However, part of Keira’s “brand” was that she had a perfect marriage/family, was a normal suburban mom, and running was not the focus of her life . After reading the NYT article, my sense is that she got a book deal based on this persona and now has to do a rebrand,
