Mo Ahmed in the 5 k or 10 k. I watched him live in Paris and he represented Canada so well. He gave it his all and was in medal contention until the last few seconds and helped push everyone to that string of Olympic records. Plus when he got silver in Tokyo there were no crowds. He’s had a harsh season, this might be his last shot with his age.
Damian Warner in the decathlon. He set the Olympic Record in Tokyo after having been in Eaton’s (and Mayer’s) shadow for so long. He was performing so wonderfully, despite his age, last year, until he no heightens in the pole vault. He still doesn’t have WC gold so fingers crossed for him.
And Tim C in the 1500m. Call me nostalgic for the older fellas who time has forgotten, but it’d be glorious. Plus he’s so damn likable—who should have his bracelet now—Hocker?

How many people would Mo have to trip to win? He was desperate to trip Fisher (again) in Paris but missed. Maybe he’ll make up for it this year while still pretending to be friendly with everyone.
Brazier coming back from injury to win gold in the 800
Sydney risking failure on the big stage and still winning gold in the 400
Melissa battling Julien and winning the 100 in the 10.5s.
Donovan Brazier would be fantastic but if Cooper Lutkenhaus does it I'd be unbelievably proud of this kid a very happy about the future excitement for him. Anytime a young kid knows they have a bright future is a great thing!
Brazier and Lutkenhaus are obvious choices. I’d love to see Girma win one after so many silvers and his fall in Paris. Kitaguchi winning in front of the home crowd would be pretty awesome. And there’s near 0% chance it happens but if Infeld won gold that would probably be most joyous for me.
If Jakob could miraculously win one title, overcoming rust, it would be fantastic. Because it would give that stinky Armstronglivs a stroke. It probably won’t happen, but we can all hope!

Sounds like he f’ed up, whether on purpose or by accident. Well he has certainly paid for it. In Paris no medaled in the 10k by a few tenths, only one not to go through in 5 k (albeit deserved—but he’s also paid for it) and hasn’t been healthy since by the looks of it. Grant has been having a pretty great year by contrast.
Out of curiosity, as I’m way less familiar with this than all of y’all it seems, what changed since this:

This!!!
Since, as he says, it probably won't happen that Jakob will win what will you do then?

Like the rest of is, he’ll watch you melt down over whatever else bothers you about Jakob, Trump, Israel not getting its way 100 percent of the time, the orderlies at the mental facility taking “liberties”with you, and the rest. All the usual entertainment.
