Wait! I thought the Communist News Network was for gun control. Why would they oppose such an action. I thought they would support efforts to remove guns.
I guess where I get confused is that I keep hearing that trans are being targeted - that we need to protect trans kids - but all I read about in the news is that trans are committing these horrific mass killings of innocent children in schools and churches. Are there any actual incidents where trans are being targeted with violence?
Before you call me transphobic, I want to be clear that all kids - trans and non-trans - to feel safe and welcome in this world. But it is a little weird when everyone seems to be clamoring about protecting trans kids, but the trans appear to be the ones committing all of the violence. Are we clamoring about protecting trans kids from themselves?

Imagine being around a guy who thinks he's a girl, that's creepy, weird. Trust me i ain't playing his BS.
You're around "creepy weird" people all the time but you wouldn't necessarily know it. Other people might also find you creepy or weird. We aren't all the same - if you haven't yet figured that out.

If you can't figure out a guy thinking he's a girl is as wrong as wrong can get, I can't help you.
Then why, exactly, would trans people be the target of DOJ for the denial of a Constitutionally protected right?
Trans people commit very, very few of mass shootings (particularly when we include gangland violence), and being trans is not considered a mental illness.
So, when can we expect the NRA to rush to the side of these law-abiding citizens?
It was 100% a mental illness in the DSM-5
It isn't now.
So the two arguments that you cannot make to try to deny these law-abiding citizens their Constitutional rights are:
1) They are mentally ill. By definition, they are not.
2) They are overrepresented in violent use of guns in society. They are not. They are underrepresented.
AND, even if they were overrepresented in gun violence, you cannot use the behavior of a few to deny rights to the rest of any population of people. If you could, white males in general would damn sure be precluded from buying AR-15-types of rifles.
I found similar studies when I researched the topic prior to posting my thoughts above, and what is often brought up is that - very unfortunately - many trans people end up in situations where they are more likely to experience violence. Examples include being unhoused, involved in sex work, and drug use. I am not saying that they deserve violence for these things, please let me be clear. But it is apples and oranges when you are talking about kids sitting in a church on the first day of school.

Ever thought about why many trans people end up in those situations?

You can start with the Pulse nightclub shooting for a start.

Waiting for the libertarian braintrust to show up and explain how George Washington and Thomas Jefferson actually wanted mentally unstable people to have AR-15s, and that I'm a "fake conservative" for disagreeing with them.
Yeah, I actually don't want people who regularly talk about killing people like me and my family on the internet to have firearms. Imagine that if you can Rand Paul voters.
Less trans folks per capita are responsible for mass shootings than cisgender folks. So what's the "mentally unstable" point you're trying to make here?
Modern conservatives don't have principles or beliefs. They are simply professional contortionists, twisting themselves into humiliating and contradictory knots to defend whatever Trump says.
-Release the Epstein files/don't release them
-1st amendment matters/strip citizenship from Trump's critics
-states rights/let's federalize the national guard
-hate socialism/bail out the farmers
-2nd amendment matters/ban trans citizens from owning guns
I'm going to give props to the NRA for being consistent with their ideology (even if many posters here are failing to be).
“The NRA supports the Second Amendment rights of all law abiding Americans to purchase, possess and use firearms,” the organization said in a social media post.”NRA does not, and will not, support any policy proposals that implement sweeping gun bans that arbitrarily strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights without due process.”
Amid reports the Justice Department is weighing banning transgender people from owning firearms in response to last month’s mass shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic church, the National Rifle Association said Friday it will op...
