Hvis Jakob overcomes his injury he will most likely be able to run low 12:30s and at least around 26:30 in the 10000m.
No former or current runner is close to Jakob´s level from 1500m to 10000m..
By the way: I think that Fisher in top shape can run high 12:30s in the 5000m and sub 26:30 in the 10000m.
Likely to happen . . . in 2026 when there is no summer Olympics or Worlds to target.
Presuming Grant races World XC/Tallahassee in early January, can see him using that race as a springboard into another record-breaking indoor season followed by an attempt at a sub-26:30 @ The Ten late March -- assuming Grant chooses to prioritize a 10,000 record attempt over World Indoors/Poland also scheduled for the end of March. It will have been 4 years since Grant edged then-teammate Mo Ahmed for that 26:33/AR win back in 2022's The TEN; time for that record to go down . . . way down, as in 26:11/WR territory.
Then, next summer, would imagine his priority will be to get into one of these loaded DL 5000 fields we've seen so many of already this year and target a sub-12:40 to regain his outdoor AR from Nico -- who may well be his main competitor in that race, possibly even along with Graham.
As far as this year, Grant mentioned in a recent interview, "if all goes well at USAs, I may race one or two DLs between then and Tokyo." Suggesting a 3000, maybe even another 1500 or mile which Grant also mentioned post-Pre he would like to do again as he wasn't happy with his tactics.
Worth noting Grant ran his 7:22.91/3000 @ Millrose a week following his 3:33.99/1500 @ NBIGP. He just split 3:33.72/1500 en route to his 3:48.29/mile @ Pre, projecting a 3:31-point/open 1500 potential, roughly 2.5 seconds faster than his NBIGP pr time. Showing his fitness has improved quite a bit since his February indoor races. And, suggesting Grant could take the same amount of time off his Millrose 3000 performance -- possibly even dipping under 7:20 if everything lined up.
So, when all is said and done on the track following the '28 LA Olympics and Grant moves on to the roads, pretty certain he will at least have taken serious attempts at outdoor world records in the 3000, 5000 & 10,000 -- and possibly the indoor & outdoor 2 mile records as well.
I am pretty sure folks like Aregawi, Barega, Cheptegei could run 3:50 or under if they were in a proper race and prepared for it
Just saw that the immortal Yann Schrub ran 3:31.4 to win by 2s in a 1500 over the weekend. It’s a different era. Schrub is a 12:56 guy who probably can break 27 in the 10K and is good at XC. But he’s not a world beater and I wouldn’t have said he had notable speed before this result.

you can't run a 26:30 off a 1:03 half. you're a subjective observer.
You are mistaken if you think a 7:17/12:48 (4 years ago when he ran 7:27) athlete and olympic 5k champion can only run 1:03. In a prepared race Jakob goes under 60 minutes 99.9 % sure at the very least.
I'd give the '24 Jakob at least 3:26/7:17/12:3x/26:4x/59:xx and more likely 12:30ish/26:10ish/58:00ish.

Jakob for sure could go under 1:03 HM as a unspectacular workout run not being above 4-5mmols
Who was the last person to have all 3 world/Olympic standards (15, 5, 10) in the same season? Bekele?
Bonus: Has there been anyone who has had the 8, 15, and 5 standards in the same season?
Sifan Hassan 15,5,10 standards in one year (Latest's to do it)
Said Aouita 1988 tried the triple getting bronze in the 800 but I believe he hurt himself in the rounds of the 1500 and didn't make the finals. Was the WR holder for 1500 & 5k coming into the games. Never was the same after that.
Aouita was not trying to triple in 1988. The 1500m and 5000m finals were run the same day.

With even splits, Ingebrigtsen could have run 60:00 last year, but that’s far from being indication he can become world class at 10000m.
