I'm Swedish and I can understand if Almgren has flown under a lot of peoples radar up until like 2023 or so, because he has basically always been injured right in time for the major championships until he started training with the Ingebrigtsens and adopted the Norwegian method.
But in the last 2 seasons he ran sub 27 at the Ten, won Valencia 10k where he set the European record, should've won Barcelona HM as well where he finished second behind Kandie who has been banned for doping, and Almgren clocked the second fastest European HM all time in that race, placed fifth in Euro XC, placed fourth in the European indoors 3000. Anyone who follows European track and field has little excuses to not have heard of him.
He has also gotten screwed over by dopers more times, at the 2023 Worlds he finished 9th in the heats where both Katir and Oumaiz who are busted for doping finished ahead of him.
