Novo Nordisc, the maker of Ozempic, is a Danish company. FWIW, I remember watching a video about doctors prescribing low-carb diet for obesity in Denmark - they didn't encourage people to take Ozempic. They don't want to destroy their own people's lives, but will gladly profit off of dumb Americans (who think that a pill exists to solve all their problems). Americans are the largest (pun intended) consumers of Ozempic.

That’s not a thing. Studies have confirmed that under caloric normalization, fats are slightly more fattening than carbs, as would be expected given the slight difference in the thermogenic efficiency of digesting the two macros. The body almost always uses both carbs and fat in moderately varying proportions for almost all activities, daily life as well as athletic, except the anaerobic zone when it’s almost entirely carbs (muscle glycogen specifically, but isn’t sustainable for long anyway).
Low carb helps those that it helps lose weight because it helps them feel fuller with fewer calories.

If you have insurance (or maybe even not), Metformin is like $2 for 90 days of supply. Ozempic may or may not get there in pill form. I think the shot is the sticking point (pun intended).

For people who are insulin resistant which includes most overweight people eating a highly processed carb heavy western diet eating carbs very much prevents the body from burning stored fat.
