As one of the few that stood up to all the guys throwing crap at Andrews on this forum the past year, I say good for her! If she now stays healthy, she can make that team.
Wow! She just absolutely bloodbathed Shelbo and Schweizer by 20+ seconds. Andrews is so beast when she is healthy.
If she can stay healthy and peak for Worlds, she might be a dark horse medal threat. I love how she doesn't get intimidated by the East Africans and believes she can beat them on a good day.
This is one race. Schweizer is just getting back and Shelby has a hamstring injury. Sorry but the fact is they blood bathes her countless time before and can continue to that in the future. She won nothing in this race. Ran a PB. Big deal

She is now the heavy favorite to win the USATF 5000m. Karissa did not look good today at all and Houlihan was far behind despite getting the World Standard.

She's not heavy favorite. It was an unusual race with several detached groups and multiple sets of wave lights. Credit to Andrews for choosing correctly to maximize her chances of a fast time but that situational dynamic hardly applies to a championship race.
That race was an example of needing the NBC crew to call Diamond League. Goucher or Swangard or anybody assigned would have recognized how well Andrews was faring and mentioned it repeatedly. I like Tim Hutchings but he's simply not the type to focus on that type of thing. He only would have spotlighted if somebody British like Megan Keith was severely over performing.
Steve Cram would have been aware of Andrews' but since he was secondary on the call the topic wasn't featured. If Jenny Meadows had been involved there's no question Andrews would have been mentioned several times. Meadows loves the feel good stories.

Why should she be mentioned in the race by the announcers if she’s in the middle of the pack and not even close to being a contender for the top 3?? No one cares about #6 or #4 for that matter. And why should the NBC crew be expected to do anything differently? Because you like someone from The US running the race and want their name mentioned even though they’re struggling to be in the lead?
