That was too close. Aregawi denying Jakob that inside lpath almost won him the race, but still Jakob out kicks him. Who says Jakob can't kick
We'll be going live from Chinat at 9:40 am ET. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

I was yelling for Gilman to hang on!!! Incredible gutsy performance! Same for Ky though! Love to see some new faces on the podium
Aregawi giving Ingebrigtsen a run for his money (making the correct moves to block passes)
Gilman over Jacobs????
OAC does NOT go home from this championship devastated. Well done Robinson
Aregawi with a near perfect race and Jakob still barely looks fazed when jogging past him after having to run with horrible position for most of the race
Jakob must have ran 205m in that last lap
It seemed close but Jakob looked surprisingly relaxed at the end. Kicking is not a concern for him in 3000 and up.

Don't summon the demon.

Audibly said uh-oh when Jakob didn't get the rail at the bell. It's insane how much power that inside lane holds indoors.

People who don't want to admit that he has terrible 1500m tactics.

LMAO. It wasn’t close. Jakob barely had to try to pass him at the end. The people claiming this was an interesting race to watch are just in denial of how good Jakob is. Aregawi isn’t close to being in his league
Sub 25 last lap
Damn that was a good race. Goes to show a lot of things can go wrong on an indoor track when there is less space...but having said that, Jakob was still able to overcome those challenges and win by a small margin, albeit in a relaxed style.
Yea do you think Jakob needed to really push himself or was he simply conserving as much energy as possible for tomorrow?
I also love seeing Aregawi run, needs to stay on the track. Ran a great race, and positioned himself smartly.

No. Sorry. Rather 26.5

People are crazy. Aregawi is excellent and he nearly beat him straight up. Jakob did have a 1500 round in his legs, but this more shows you the gap between Aregawi and his choking compatriots in the 5,000.

Houlihan looked super nervous on the line. Outkicking Jess Hull after the season she had last year(despite a rocky indoor season) is kinda crazy, but her signature kick could be coming back.
Like her or not, hard to see her missing the 5k team this summer.
Also excellent run by Morgan, thought at the bell she had momentum to catch up to Shelby and Jess, but I think they timed their kicks different.
Morgan did great but it was interesting to see how Houlihan moved past her reacting more quickly to the move from Hailu
I've also always wondered how does Jakob accelerate the way he does while looking so effortless. That last lap, you could see Aregawi's stride visibly lengthen and his arms start pumping harder but Jakob is right behind him, almost looking like he's walking. It's definitely interesting to watch

No. Mid 26

That was not a sub 25 last lap. Ngl I’m not impressed by this. Josh Kerr dropped a low 25. And ran sub 7:40. According to citius, he closed in 26.67.
