I like this conversation. It brings up a few dynamics indirectly beyond whether those food(ish) items are directly harmful. I also see the expression of free will in Hobbs' approach. He has maintained joy in his pursuit of excellence, he takes advice (from specialized professionals), and he makes choices. As a person and as an athlete he is on the rise, and not just on the rise but at the top of his sport. I see too many athletes burning out, either slowly or quickly. Hobbs has found the door to sustained success and growth.
