2:06 is a not a bad time, but finishing 9th is. And getting beaten by 8 unknow runners makes it even worse.
Very much this. He couldn't finish ahead of Suldan Hassan, a runner that I'm sure very few people outside of Sweden has ever heard about. Hassan improved his Swedish record by one and a half minute from his previous record.
Was expecting atleast course record but it shows Marathon is a completely different game.
Still quite a bit better than a 63 min HM.
Cheptegei got smoked by 5 people with 10k PBs ranging all the way from 27:20 to 28:40. Sounds like Cheptegei should stick to the time trials and leave the races involving tactics to the pros.
Nobody mentioned Jakob, only you, who are obsessed.
So Jakob doesn't count when he says the marathon world record is one of his goals? Or are you admitting he isn't good enough to be even compared with Cheptegei?

Armstronglivs and "mentally sound" shouldn't be mentioned together in the same sentence.
He may make some repetitive posts but at the end of the day at least he doesn't spam the boards with rekrunner doping denial nonsense.
This mischaracterizes what I deny. I don't deny that doping use can be found generally at all levels in all sports. It is just that there are many myths surrounding doping use and alleged effects that I question, plainly supported by fallacies or unsupported with baseless allegations.
A quick calculation shows that Armstronglivs spammed these boards 15x per day for almost 7 years since registration. I have posted 4.2x per day for almost 10 years. I'm sure I could reduce my posts by a factor of 20x, if I didn't respond to posts (like this) which mischaracterize what I say.

This topic is not about your gay crush.
I'm not one of them but don't be so hard on Jakob fans.

You've forgotten to mount your endless defence of Shelby again, and your excuses for countless Kenyan violations while insisting doping doesn't aid runners' performances and athletes only "believe" drugs will help them, like a belief in magic. 20 years of such posts.
I am a woman. And I don't find Jakob attractive. But you do. I mean, it's 4 a.m. and you have been posting non-stop about him instead of sleeping.
Sure, you "don't find him attractive" - while going on about "the bulge in his shorts". But what is it about a certain kind of woman who is concerned when a person she doesn't know on the other side of the world sleeps? Weird. Or maybe a megalomaniacal desire for control over others.

No I haven't. In Shelby's case, I don't deny the possibility that she doped. But I don't presume it either. In the case of Kenyan violations, I don't deny any rule violations, to the extent they also have a sufficient evidentiary basis. Any discussion of performance benefit, either established or believed, doesn't seem relevant to a claim of "doping denial".
All these things can be better called "skepticism" when the evidence is insufficient.
