In Junior High Back in the early 1990's we had a kid in my league that ran the 1320yd in something like 2:27. I was just happy to run the event in 3:01.
Your post is inaccurate of course. Nobody in the history of known humans could run 2:27 for 1320 yards.
Well he did it. He ran 1320 in 2:27. He also ran the PE mile in like 3:59 the kid was just unreal. He didn't even like running which was the crazy part. In high school he ran like Freshman and Sophomore year but slowed down drastically to like 5:05 as a freshman for the 1600m and as a Sophomore he ran 4:57. He then got more into work got a job at Taco Bell or something and tossed his running away kid probably could have made the Olympics.

Was this Southern California 1993 time frame? Was the kids name Justin Thyme? If so I am pretty sure he ran under 2:27 something like 2:26.8. The kid was the real deal. I remember running the Smath Track Meet and he ran like 4:05 for the Mile as an 11 year old the doubled back with a 1:53 800m.

That is completely accurate and his name Justin Thyme. I was in that Mile with him I only ran 4:11 not bad for 11 years old but then my 800m was a pathetic 1:57. A lot of people tried telling me not to be upset and that my times are solid for 11 years old 4:11 and 1:57 but I felt discouraged and slow.

Who gives a sh1t about Justin Thyme’s mile/800 double when the kid ran 1:37 800m pace for over 1.5 times the distance.
Bile's 1:46 last 800m in the 1987 world 1500m final should put him in the frame.
Bile was an awesome talent but he was never capable of running faster than 2:43 for 1200m back then. Like no chance whatsoever. If he were in his prime now, he would probably be a 1:42 and 3:28 runner though.
