The younger NIDP kids looked pretty solid. Lot's of sub 4:40 miles.
The CS Twins look/run tired.
CDA is looking special for next year. It will be interesting to see how the valley teams shape up early in the season, specifically Boise, Rocky, Mountain View, Centennial, and Eagle.
First meets of the season for the above schools:
Mountain View v. Eagle Rocky v. Centennial Boise v. Highland v. Meridian

CDA will be a top 10 team in the nation for a while. Next year they will only have 1 senior, so in 2026 (and probably in the years after?) they might be in contention to win NXN. They have some fast middle schoolers that can improve too
2 of their Freshman clock 4:3x in the mile at Nike Nationals.
Carr goes 8:59, Zack goes 9:00, Max 9:01. Full 2 mile, so all should get comfortably under in an outdoor 3200.
What's the Arcadia squad looking like for Idaho? CDA's top 3-4? Lucas, maybe Tuft from Rocky? Stadtlander?
Carr, the CS brothers, Lucas, Sheesley, Stadtlander, Knutsen, Jensen, and Burdick are the only runners that have the required marks at the required level of meet. Arcadia only takes marks from invitationals and championship meets. Duals, tris, quads and five way meets do not qualify.
Girls would be Taylor, Orme, Johnson, Livingston, Pollock, Heemeyer, Reeder, and Sullivan.
Valley teams 1600m returners and notable absences (mainly kids that ran varsity in the fall for these schools):
Rocky:
4:22, 4:38, 4:48, 4:49, 4:49, 4:52, 4:58
Notable absences: Jack Davis
Mt View:
4:22, 4:31, 4:40, 4:49, 4:51, 5:06, 5:06
Notable absences: none
Boise:
4:31, 4:37, 4:50, 4:51, 4:52, 4:54, 4:59
Notable absences: Miles McGee
Eagle:
4:33, 4:35, 4:45, 4:46, 4:55, 4:58, 5:04
Notable absences: Johnny Culpepper, James Anderson, Lucas Hampton
Culpepper and Anderson have mono
Looks like Johnny Culpepper is at least training again. Mono can be really rough so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him not return or look not good if he does. He was 12th at state cross so actually a fairly big name to be gone for a portion of the season.
First invites of the season are finally here- will be fun to see where everyone is at and some good head to head competition. Looks like a few Idaho schools will be at Oregon Relays (CDA, Mountain View, others?) and then lots of schools at Boise Relays. Should be a fun weekend all around!
