Valby! Their children (everyone knocks up their training partner) would be stunning!
I don't know. Their children would look like Centro, and many here were irked that the American who broke the dry spell was not a full golden white boy like Jacob.
If he's looking for people he doesn't have to mentor who can push him in workouts, I think he's talking about Cole Hocker and to a lesser extent Cooper Teare. Both of them are faster than him at 1500m, they are close enough in 5000m, and also close at 3000m. Fisher does not have Hocker's speed and never will, so Hocker will always qualify as someone who can push Fisher. Hocker has an Olympic gold so obviously needs no mentoring from Fisher.
Why does he need another runner to push him, is Grant Fisher not motivated enough to push himself? I doubt it. Besides, any person with a bike and a watch can act is a pacer. What physiological benefit to running performance does someone running close to you provide? I just don't think the benefits of training partners occur on the track the same way many in the sport do, in fact they can often be a hindrance. Running hard workouts as a group just doesn't make much sense.
I think ideally he wants someone who is roughly equal or better in medals/PBs, has spent significant amounts of time in the West, and can be located in America. Ahmed seems like an ideal partner for him. Not sure if BTC would allow that though.
Yeah, highly unlikely that BTC would allow another coach to coach one of their athletes. Also, highly unlikely Ahmed would leave them now in the middle of the off season. If he was going to leave, it would be between seasons. Fisher's not going to find anyone willing to switch coaches and move to Utah in the middle of the offseason. A big problem is Fisher's coach. He has no track record outside of Fisher. Another problem is even if another pro was willing to be coached by him, it's probably pretty likely Fisher's coach is going to tailor everything to Fisher. This might not be acceptable to the athlete.

BTC doesn’t own the athletes. Athletes are essentially independent contractors contractually bound to their sponsor. BTC athletes have upped and left Jerry Schumacher and other Nike group coaches. In fact it is those athletes that have left Nike groups who have performed the best. Fisher, Hocker, Mantz, Rooks, Tear, Cranny. They all are not associated with Nike groups and have been doing much better because of it.
The facts are clear, and Nike should be doing a hard inward look as to why. The why points back to them.
You are right, BTC isn’t going to let Another Coach work with their athletes. But what if I told you some of “their” athletes aren’t going to be “there” anymore? I wouldn’t be surprised to hear 2 males and a female announcing their departure soon. I bet at least one ends up in Park City
I thought of Casey Clinger, but I know he is already doing stuff with Conner and Clayton but if he wants to still do 5k and 10k it could makes sense for a few years.

Nice thing about Clinger is he’s close to Fisher’s age, so they are a good match in that regard (sorry, I couldn’t resist).
